If the Jazz make a draft day trade......Predict the trade.

You can't remove the red flags though. If Dekker was a consistent shooter he'd be a top 5 guy too. I like turner, but he's a five... long term he won't fit well with Gobert and I think he has more value to another team that doesn't have a young stud center. I wouldn't be upset at all if we drafted and kept him, but if we had an offer to pick up another prospect in the same tier that might fit better and get another good draft asset I would rather pursue that option.

No he wouldnt, he would be consensus lottery, but not top 5. He is a 3rd year player. You have to be a super-star junior to be a top 5 pick.

Scouting is entirely subjective. My instincts tell me that he's going to be significantly better than his draft position. A lot of that will of course come down to him - his health and his work ethic. One of those things is inside his control and by all reports, he has a strong work ethic. I just think that he's the potential surprise of this draft. It's just my opinion, but I think that his red flags are overrated and he'll work past his issues as he grows up and matures as a player. I see him as a guy that everybody looks back on and thinks should have been a top 5 pick. I want that, even if he isn't a perfect fit for the roster as it's currently constructed.

I have the same vibe about his potential as I did about Leonard, Faried, Lillard, Antetokounmpo and Gobert. I'll admit that I didn't have that same vibe about Exum, but I also recognized early in SL that I think I was completely wrong about him and his future. I'm totally on the Exum bandwagon now.

That's why I want Myles Turner. I think he's special. Special can be hard to find at #12.

Fair enough... I certainly get swinging for the fences, but medical stuff needs to be taken seriously... especially on big guys. If DL feels he is special then I wouldn't trade him. He is a great guy and I think he will do the work to reach his potential, but I have pause regarding long term fit and his health. The first issue isn't a deal killer but I get a kind of Oden vibe when I watch him move. If he just runs funny and there is no physical reason for it then he is undervalued. If he has a longer leg or some other weird deformity it will be hard to succeed.

He'd be close... point was its hard to just remove the red flags. I see some people havr him going around 8. If he was a consistent good three point shooter he'd be right there with Winslow, Johnson, and hezonja... if he could shoot he may have come out last year so he wouldn't be a 3 year guy.

Just curious, what are the red flags on Turner?

Jazz trade #42 to Toronto for a 2018 second round pick.

Oh, it is happening.

Not every player you draft ha to be a starter. Turner could be a stretch 4/5 and play well with Favors and Gobert in short and long terms.

I am aware... I don't think Turner can play with Gobert... both are true centers. Favs can play both positions imo. That's the long-term fit issue. I'd take him though if he is there... if he shows good progress in a small role he is an amazing trade asset.

Last trade idea (I think) based on rumors of Detroit liking Tim Hardaway...

NYK sends Calderon to Utah and Tim to Detroit, Detroit sends the #8 pick to us and Cartier Martin to NYK for salary matching purposes, Utah sends the #12 to Detroit and Booker to NYK so they can waive him and clear more cap space.

I think Detroit gets the short end of the stick and NYK get a pretty good deal.

Raptors took Bruno Cabocolo in the 1st round last year when he wasnt projected to nearly that high (or even in the 1st round, I think), so they aren't scared to reach on prospects they like.

Portland reportedly wants to trade #23 for 2 second rounders. I would do that. There are a number of rotation guys in that range: ROH, Anderson, Hunter, Jones, etc.

I think turner can play PF. he could be Serge Ibaka with a jumpshot.

The odds that a guy after 20 makes it are low. . . but I'd gladly trade #42 & #54 plus cash for #23. There's still a chance that something crazy happens and a guy like Lyles, Oubre, Hunter or Looney is still sitting there. Give the Jazz Turner at #12 and a guy who falls at #23 (which has been money for them lately) and this is a very successful draft.

If the Sixers can trade for a pick 16-23, don't rule out possibility of packaging that with a future first to get a second lottery pick.

Roll that asset forward Lindsey!

I really have no idea, but I did have a dream last night.

Utah traded #12 to Boston for #16 + 2 future picks.

The Jazz then drafted Kevon Looney at #16.

With the news about Portland. I would roll our assets for Damian Lilard. Exum the 12 the gs first and the okc first plus how ever many of our 2nd rounders they want.

source??
I'd do that quickly.

I'm sure you guys have speculated about this quite a bit, but what can Burke and our second-rounders get us?
