No scenarios about him leaving make any sense whatsoever from a basketball or financial standpoint. The only thing i could understand is if he just wants to live in a particular city. I'm not worries about him leaving at all.
Outside of going to Boston, I think this is correct. To be completely honest, I can see Hayward really excelling in Boston's offense. I watched a lot of Celtics games this year, and I love what they run. Closest thing to classic Jazz offense in today's NBA. They do run of the same horns sets the Jazz do, but with a few wrinkles. Not to mention, they take advantage of fast break opportunities. They also run the same top pick and roll we do, but they also run the good ol' flex and UCLA, which opens up a ton of opportunities for the small forward. I could see his assist numbers rising too.
I also like Steven's offensive sets. They way he doubles a good post defender and hedges the pick and roll is textbook. I feel like the Jazz have much better talent, but Stevens does a better job with what he has.
Not to mention that the East makes a deep playoff run more feasible.
All the betterI think there is a chance of him leaving. I wouldn't bet on it, but here is a plausible scenario.
The Jazz can't get Hill to resign. He gets huge money elsewhere. We go back to Shelvin Mack as our starting PG(ugh). I don't think his ties to Brad Stevens is as big as deal as everyone makes it out to be, but if the Jazz lose pieces in free agency I think he ponders leaving for a team like Boston. Without Hill we won't do better and aren't any closer to a championship. He doesn't have to be the main guy in Boston(Thomas is). With the pieces Boston has, I think they are closer to contenders then the Jazz.
That's a pessimistic look, but I don't want it to be a complete shock to me if he leaves.
We'll survive. I believe our best assets right now is the Dennis Lindsey & Quin Snyder duo. Heck we won 51 games when half the team is injured at one time or another.
They'll make it work and we'll survive.
where's all the witty retorts to my posts now? (silence..) re-read what I just posted..
I invite a full-force defensive response, try your hardest. You will come to realiZe that my perception of these conversations are a lot like this one..

You are an embarrassment. If you knew how pathetic you make yourself look you would be more embarrassed than you can imagine. Just know that, you are a LAUGHING STOCK.
Part of this is right(the survival bit) part of this is very wrong tho. If your best assets aren;t on the court, you're in major trouble...
The best asset by ****ing far and away is Rudy.. how could u miss such a thing? this has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt..
HE IS THE FRANCHISE, HE IS THE TEAM, HE IS THE IDENTITY. THE BRAND. THE RISING TIDE THAT LIFTS ALL BOATS. THE FUTURE.
If you have those associations and they're not directed at Rudy, they're "old hat".. time will prove me correct. Hayward knows this, if he leaves he;s not leaving the cupboard barren -- he already knows Rudy's twice the star he could ever be, Hayward just a sophisticated piece to the puzzle in comparison. Rudy is the real deal, no gimmicks, a true alpha beast, he is the game..
If Hayward walks Rudy won't even blink...
This is why I said it a long time ago, Hayward would literally have to be an idiot to seek greener pastures elsewhere.. He's a #2 and Utah's brought this spectacular #1 right to his feet.
