If we can't get Nash, what about Billups?

Why is everyone so opposed? It's not like signing him is going to keep us from signing someone else and it's not like he's going to be taking minutes away from someone who's currently tearing it up.

IMO, Billups is going to hurt a team more than he will help them (inefficient player)
So you're be paying a relatively large salary to a player that's going downhill..

I'd rather have an inefficient player at a low price than an inefficient player at a high price. The only difference might be that Billups has leadership experience. Tinsley works out better to me than Billups.
If we really are getting Lilliard, I'm guessing Harris will be here. Nash won't come here, he wants a ring right now and we're a couple years away from that talk if ever.
 
Billups will never sign here in a thousand years. I'd say he's destined for the Heat at the vet min (with maybe a little extra tossed in.) Perfect player for them even as a semi-cripple, but semi-cripple has its limits.
 
Insofar as my goal of bringing in an assist machine I keep coming back to Calderon. Never wanted him before but he's up there in assist numbers and seems like an even swap for Harris.

If Rondo is unattainable and Nash doesn't want to gamble with Corbin and young players Jose is the 3rd option.

I can think of at least 5 places he'd rather get shot or stabbed than sign with the Jazz.















And that's just in the face.
