If we stand pat, where do we get our scoring?

Hood will start the season as a focal point. Slowly, but surely, Donovan Mitchell will take over that role, along with Gobert. Favors will also return to his 16 ppg average. That's three guys in the 15-17 ppg ballpark, with Hood going up to about 14 ppg.

Nah, we lack scoring right now with Hill and Betrayward gone.

We absolutely need a new SF. Crowder is around 14 ppg. It would help a lot.

Mitchell has zero shot at ROY.
 
Hood will have quite a few 30+ games. The problem will be if he can become consistent. His lack of ability to string big scoring games has been his weakness so far. Hopefully that was mostly deferring to Hayward instead of lack of mental toughness.

Being the focal point of the D will also be a new experience for him that was very difficult for Hayward to hurdle. Hopefully he added some muscle this off-season.
 
I was hearing the commentary on a Sixers/Jazz summer league highlight that they want Hood to shoulder more of the scoring load. So I'd imagine he's what they're looking at with Rubio/Gobert bringing more heat. Maybe a special place for Exum and Bolomboy; Mitchell if he can stand up to NBA players.

What about adding a guy like Aaron Affalo? The Kings waived him and Anthony Tolliver at about the same time. Both are 8-9 ppg.
 
Hood is a damn good scorer, but that's about it. If he is off he's about worthless. He doesn't do anything else, just like Burks.
