What's new

If you we're running an office/business and had to report to the Board/Street....

So as a business man I was thinking about Corbin and what position he is in. He is the boss of an office that is performing sub par to par of what is expected by he board. He had the following employees and knows he needs to perform and hit numbers now but also set up his team for a successful 2014 year.

Who do you put on your team with that in mind if you we're the VP?

The hard worker in your office that was a top performer yet was and is overlooked. Was told that his hard work was the making him a leader. Has his problems though doing the basic thing due to shortages in areas which makes it hard on others.

The girl in the office that is a top performer when you look at the numbers but is always only looking for her own numbers. When it comes to an overall performer, she lacks in other areas but at the end of the day the numbers are the numbers in some eyes.

The girl that her resume says she should be a star but is fresh out of college. You see her potential but is needing to learn the business. Seems to give effort all the time but is shy and doesn't speak up.

The foreign guy in the office that has a great degree but knows nothing about the business. At times there is flashes of why we send everything overseas but is still so new that he needs time to learn.

A man in the office that resume and talents seem like he should be a star. Worked only 1 other place but wasn't real successful but has a Harvard degree.

The underdog that only had her GED but when you tell her to jump she will. Overachiever but you know she will never be an A for you. Best case a B but sets an example of hard work.

The 2 people in the office that have been there for years... Never a top performer but somehow have kept their jobs for 10 years. Trust them as they know the business in and out but you maybe think they can be a solid team member for you but that's about it.

The young college kid that shows talent through the roof an is a go getter. Everything seems to come easy to him.

The guy that's the company clown. At least he can jump high....

The company man... The guy that seems to be a goo all around contributor. Boarder line A but definitely a solid B for you for years to come.

The girl that has bounced from job to job for years. Decent numbers but some glaring weeknesses that can be seen by everyone.

The girl in the office that is a wildcard. She was alright before and left he company but left and was successful elsewhere. You decided to hire her back but at this point she feels she is better than maybe she is. Her ego had gotten big from being away but is looked at as a leader as she had been around for awhile and can have good weeks of production for you.

I am one to get on Corbin as much as anyone but the spot he is in is not a good one. He had some talented team members and some young talent but I am sure is being told to hit his numbers now because the stock price is dropping.

Corbin was so frustrated he was losing a fight with his water bottle. He couldnt get a drink of water because he was unscrewing the cap the wrong way. Hey thats our sideline brain.

If Corbin wasn't the CEO of such said business.....he would be the first to go! If he was the CEO of such said business.....he would be replaced, fired, let go, downsized........by the stockholders!

......one of the top 10 baseball players of ALL TIME! 4,000 hits is 200 hits a year.....for TWENTY years......and you're still 250 hits short of Roses hit total! Ran to first base every time he put the ball in play! Never gave up or gave in. One of the few sports athletes worth every penny he was ever paid!

He isn't the CEO.. His boss is. He is being dealt with the people above and told we have confidence in you but you must hit your number this year and year to year to have your job.

If that is the case, who do you roll with?

Didn't read much of it, sorry. 1280 had a big time New York beat writer on a couple weeks back who told about the Knicks not making a move because the board didn't want to waste shareholder money on a very much less than maybe. He then talked about how ****ty the Knicks have been for about 15 years (IIR it all C).

We can go Charlotte and tank for 8 years; we can move to Las Vegas.

There's a reason for JazzBall, guys. It's only 19 more games.
