What's new

If you're Lindsey what is your deadline move?

Burke, Jefferson and Marvin for Deron and Jason Terry. We sit Deron the rest of the season to heal his ankle and help with the tank!!! Then we pick a top five rookie and role out a line up next year of ..,

Deron, Hayward, Rookie(Parker, wiggins or Exum) Kanter and Favors with burks, Jason terry, Jeremy Evans and Gobert as our bench!!!

Nets do this to get out from Derons Contract and have a pg in Burke to go with their veteran lineup!!!

Oh yeah.... Also resign Rush for cheap and we still have the GS pick who will be on the roster !!!

In a recent Locke podcast, he mentioned that Marvin was trying to make it public that he 100% wants to stay in Utah. Loves the franchise. It could be hard for the Jazz to move a guy that wants to stick around and mentor young players.

I agree.
Hell, marvin has grown on me........ but only as a backup player for somewhat cheap......... and its always in mind that maybe marvin is playing so well because its a contract year and next season he will go back to last years production

I still find unoriginal cheerleader humor funny.

It seems to me that DL don't give a damn about the players desire. He just take into account what is the best for the franchise. I'm confident he will try to trade Marvin.

I am not so sure Marvin is not in the future plans though. We will need some quality veterans on this team no matter who we add to the roster via the draft. Why not Marvin? Seems like he likes it here. Seems like he has found his niche. Corbin is just an idiot who plays him far too much, but he is still young enough to be in the rotation for another 4-5 years effectively.

Well if Marv really loves the Jazz so much, then the Jazz can re-sign him in the offseason. Whether he ends the season here or not.

"I will give you the GSW pick, if you take Marvin and Jefferson off my hands."

"Also, you have to kneecap Burke and Favors for me."

It feels like Marvin is having a great year, but he is right at or below his career averages for just about every stat. (didn't check advanced stats). The one exception is that he is shooting a career % from 3.

I think last year was just that bad..

Contract year?
Or Marv is finally relatively healthy?

I don't mind keeping MW but should be on a reasonable price read: much lower than current salary

I actually like Marvin (off the bench) but I'm hoping like Hell that they trade him soon. His value will never be higher and I just don't see him in the team's long term plans unless he comes really cheap. The majority of the future cap space needs to go to keeping the members of the Core5 that you value most and putting a decent (but inexpensive) bench behind them. I don't think they can afford to invest too heavily in Marvin Williams.
