I'm all in for getting Gay

Rudy Gay, that is.

My reasoning:

1. We have to have someone with the same name as another player on this team. After we trade trey Burke, we need a replacement.

2. He can play small forward and power forward. We can go very big (hood, Hayward, gay, Favors, gobert) or small (exum, hood, hayward, gay, 1/2 Wasatch front)

3. He is a vet presence to calm the team down in high pressure situations.

4. He has been an all star, and knows how to score.

Possible downsides:

Both Memphis and Toronto got better after trading him.

He has the same name as Rudy, and his last name, which is gay.

What are we giving the Kings for him? He has one more year left on his current deal. I think he is a 3/4 and I'm not sure we'd have enough PT for a player of his caliber.

Vet presence for high pressure situations? The dude has been in a handful of playoff games his entire career. Hayward, Favors and Burks know just about as much as this guy does about playing in the post season.

Do you realize that Rudy was drafted one pick below Randy Foye and in the same class as Ronnie Brewer, Dee Brown and Paul Milsap?

Its funny how for awhile people thought Portland made such a great trade to get Roy instead of Foye and now Foye is still in the NBA. Although Portland made some great moves that year getting Roy and Aldridge it just didnt pan out in the end.

Every team Gay leaves makes the playoffs.

Memphis made the playoffs with him multiple years. He also wouldn't be playing the minutes he has been for other teams here or the same role. I dont think he is the best move but it would help us. Although I think there are other better moves to be made.

I am not a real big gay guy.Cant believe no one else said this yet.
Half of you probally got no clue what I am talking about.
Anyway your former Ute coach Mjerus said this on ESPN. Had Steve Lavin laughing in background

No they made it with him one year, then traded him the next year.

They also the made playoffs one year where he played half the season and got injured. They posted a better record with him injured.

Jazz fans are dumb. Rudy Gay makes us a contender.
I love how we hate everyone not on the roster.

Im pretty sure they made the playoffs in 10/11 season although he missed the playoffs when they beat the spurs. then they made the 4 seed 11/12 season and he was traded in 2013 season. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I updated my post. They made it one year with him there, and they made it the year before when he played up til the All-Star break then got hurt. So my original post was wrong.
