What's new

I'm all in for getting Gay

Yeah, I updated my post. They made it one year with him there, and they made it the year before when he played up til the All-Star break then got hurt. So my original post was wrong.

Raptors and Griz did get better after he left though. He is/was a low efficiency player when teams made him the focal point of their offense. I do not think the Jazz would look at him to be their top scorer though and he would be coming off the bench or playing next to Hayward and Favors who would get more shots than him.

I really don't think sacto can get a lot for the guy. They are a real mess. I bet they just want to unload a lot of their salary.

No... I disagree with every syllable.

Rudy Gay's a temporary asset at best. AKA more Trial and Error. He and Hayward could both walk next offseason..

Maxxing Harrison Barnes is a much stronger move. He's a core-aged player, with one, possibly 2 NBA championships under his belt, he can spread the floor and hit big 3's.

Just like if they went after Cory Joseph last off-season. Adding a young vet type that's been thru playoff battles could be a good chemistry move..

The bench would be so much better..

Unproven.

I've been a HUGE go after black falcon (ugh) guy... the biggest here, in fact.. But he's not the 22ppg game career scorer that Gay is.....
Depends what the Jazz want to do and when.

What are Barnes' stats shooting % wise ? He's never overly impressed me, but i haven't watched a lot of him.

he's a career 38% shooter from 3, and thats what he shot this season, his form is picturesque and he's likely to stay consistent.. He's capable of Rashard Lewis type #'s, who also shot 38% from 3 for his career.

Do you realize that Rudy was drafted one pick below Randy Foye and in the same class as Ronnie Brewer, Dee Brown and Paul Milsap?

You convinced me. We should go get Randy Foye. He is better than Rudy Gay. Because draft order predestines NBA performance.

You want TO SIGN Barnes to a max and then have him coming off the bench? Also the chips under his belt is overblown. They would of won that chip without him. He is a role player. A good role player but nothing more then that

They can easily give him 2300 minutes. If injuries like this season happen he can handle more.. He can play some at PF too.

Barnes would leave them with

Hayward, Hood, Burks, Barnes (and Ingles) on the wing and Favors, Gobert, Lyles, 20161st rd pick(and Withey) up front

Which sets the roster to make final PG tweaks in 2017 if needed.

Lyles, Barnes and Burks on the wing off the bench would be badass, that's a scoring punch...
