What's new

I'm all in for getting Gay

Well seeing how Barnes has done more in the NBA so far, Ever think of chance that maybe Barnes would push Hood to the bench? just makes ero sense to max a player that's going be on the bench. Of course what you and me say ill have no bearings on the situation and any coach in his right mind would make the players earn the starting spots but still why would you max out a bench player?

They can easily give him 2300 minutes. If injuries like this season happen he can handle more.. He can play some at PF too.

Barnes would leave them with

Hayward, Hood, Burks, Barnes (and Ingles) on the wing and Favors, Gobert, Lyles, 20161st rd pick(and Withey) up front

Which sets the roster to make final PG tweaks in 2017 if needed.

Lyles, Barnes and Burks on the wing off the bench would be badass, that's a scoring punch...

What exactly has Hood done in the NBA so far to just pencil him in as the starter?
I would start Gay at SF and Hayward at SG, Atleast on paper and then have Hoods offense off the bench. I get it that Hood showed some good potential but a player like Gay has done it year after year.. LEts see how Hood does next year since more film is on him and scouting reports will now menton him.. Gobert struggled since once he was part of the opposing teams scouting reports

Exum/Mack/Neto
Hood/Burks
Hayward/Gay/Ingles
Favors/Lyles
Gobert/Olynyk/Withey

Make it happen

Also Olynk goes from starter on playoff team to backup on lottery team? You have two guys who are starters coming off the bench? Sure it makes your bench a whole lot better but I just do not see this coming true at all.. Gay is a scorer, could be your go ahead scorer but how would his attitude be coming off the bench for a team that is a lottery team? WE have seen what Jazz starters can do together, Go into lottery. MAybe need to switch up your lineup.. A I have said before Quinn is not a very good coach and I bet another year in the lottery an dmost of you will come to agree with me.

flexing Hayward to the starting SG, Barnes to the starting SF is totally viable IMO and with Exum at point, thats a giant backcourt..

Barnes is interchangeable wih the pieces already in place..

Hood, Burks and Lyles off the bench is also a definite scoring punch..

I do agree, btw.

Same thing with Rudy Gay. But Gay is not going to cost the max.

Rudy Gay is a liability though.. He'll be in a contract year.. I'm extremely doubtful they head in that direction.. Barnes seems like a MUCH better fit in almost every facet IMO..

Plus the Jazz have $$ to spend if the cap is going to be 92mil, and Gay will cost more tangible assets. ((Assets that could be better off spent moving up in the draft??)

Last night, without the King of Gravity, Barnes shot 1 - 10.

6 points 5 rbs.

It's extremely hard to max a player who's currently the 4th option.

I think maxing Barnes would be a mistake. We pretty much all agree that we need a 3/4 though.

Did you see the one make though?? He left James Harden in the dust on a faceup move

And that's all he's ever been since North Carolina, just flashes here and there. Of course Hayward was 24 when he had his
breakout year, so don't want to write Barnes off yet as an eternal role player.

Yes maxing Barnes would be a monumental mistake for the franchise. A lot of us don't think Hayward is worth the "new" max, why would we spend that on a lesser player?
