What's new

I'm convinced, bring in Mejri

19pts, 14reb, 7blk... not to shabby... if we can get him for 1mil/year, bring him in.
Maybe he will turn into Javale McGee with brains.

If kanter got that line, we would all be ****ting our pants.

19 pts, but he did it on 8/20 FG shooting and had ZERO assists. Not very efficient and the guy must be a total black hole.

I liked him in the summer league. He only played a few games with the Jazz. I think he left to go play in the Las Vegas summer league. I don't think it had to do with an injury or him not playing well. I certainly think he can play a backup role in the NBA. I would rather get rid of both Raja and Watson and sign Mejri and Murphy. I know what I have with Raja and Watson but perhaps M&M could develop into solid backups.

I've been posting thoughts on Mejri since the 1st game of Summer League. He definitely deserves a camp invite.

Good to hear; I liked him in the first couple Summer League games, but then he didn't get on the floor after that; I assumed he had an injury. Only thing I DIDN'T like was his Andre Kirilenko imitation trying to dribble thru traffic. At 7'1", just keep the ball HIGH, dude...
LOL; maybe KoC sat him because he didn't want to give other NBA teams more video on him

He wasn't benched on the summer league team. He left the team with two games left. I wondered why he left summer league early and also turned down the Knicks offer to go the Vegas summer league. Now, it makes sense that he had to leave to join his Olympic team for practices. The International stage is great for Tunisian Basketball and Mejri. I hope he gets in invite to Utah's camp.

He is shutting down Scola's as well as most of Argentina. He has 4 blocks in the first quarter. These are not FIBA blocks, these are legit NBA blocks.
What's wrong with FIBA blocks? If anything FIBA refs tend to call fouls much more than NBA refs when there is a hand to hand contact.

He's confirmed via Twitter that he's willing to do this to Mark Jackson...

Mejri on Jackson: I tell coach Jackson to lose is dishonor. To lose with intent is no courage. In home country you try to lose game you lose hand first offense.

I don't even know if those are considered blocks or not. I was running a too little of sleep this morning.
You lost me. When it comes down to blocks count goaltending rules are the same. Difference is when ball hits the rim but then there is no blocking anyway.

I thought he seemed fairly uncoordinated and slow, but maybe I was wrong. Can't be much worse than Fesenko.

Ah; didn't know that he left early; probably the Jazz knew this up front. Thanks for the explanation.
