What's new

I'm just glad we didn't draft Devin Booker

I just remember looking at tons of highlights on both Booker and Lyles, one day, with lyles really standing out and not seeing anything that really stuck out to me with Booker.

Not really fair to compare them head to head. Phoenix has given up and we have a strong defense. Booker doesn't have a supporting cast to help him, Lyles does.

Both are really good, much better than I expected.

38% from 3 pt is hardly anything to be overly giddy about

Now 40%

Better than Ryan Anderson, Dirk, Bosh, Draymond, Fourth best PF in the league with >75 shots. And only a Rookie.

Other rookie PF/C stats: Anderson = 36%, Dirk = 20%, Bosh = 37%, Draymond = 20%.

Kevin Love was 32% over first 2 seasons

3 PFs with higher % this year: Channing Frye was 9/27 over his first 3 years, Marvin Williams was <24% each of his first three seasons, Teletovic was ~27 when joining the NBA, shot 34% his rookie year.

How high would it have to be to make you giddy? The rookie record is 47% by shooting guard Anthony Morrow, would that do it? If you are not giddy about Trey's shooting we'll have to check your pulse.

He was talking about Booker. Still a stupid argument from him.

I'm a big Lyles fan, but there's no doubt that booker is the better player. This is the risk of the draft. But I think we are so quick to point fingers at DL when we are forgetting that he is a puppet for KOC who is pulling the strings as president of basketball operations. Add that with an owner that could care less and this is what you get. KOC was horrible at his job of GM and the front office promoted him! Let's not forget.

You are so full of ****!!!

And it's too soon to say who the better player is to this point.

Absolutely not. If anything, it seems Lyles has the better potential right now. He does so much more than Booker.

Booker is a shooter and that's all. I'm pretty sure Lyles will be the better player overall.

booker has shown some handling and playmaking ability in phoenix, but really Lyles playmaking and shooting at his size is such a huge step up from what booker brings.

Booker does have some skill, but Lyles is so unique as a player that the skill set he brings will do more to help an offense by taking a big out of the paint and creating easier looks for the rest of the team. Memo made things for D-Will and Boozer so much easier. Their pick'n roll was so much more affective because of Memo. Lyles should do the same for this team, and he does so much more then Memo. Also remember, even Memo developed a drive game from players worrying about his 3pt shot. Just think how much more affective Lyles will be at this. Lyles is also more likely to drive and kick or dish for an open dunk or layup, or open three.

You ****ing moron. Lyles is a bust, while Booker could have filled in that 3 point shooting the Jazz desperately need.

Lyles feeling like a scrub bust with no roll in the playoffs.

I was screaming for Booker on draft night. Still screaming....

DL wanted a stretch 4 and then he decided to go with the guy with below 20% from college three point line. Now he is shooting at a percentage that almost everyone expected, except for DL.

I definitely think even Phoenix didnt see the 70 pts potential in Booker. And i can see why we didnt pick Booker, that position was overloaded. But still Lyles was a bad pick. He has some skills, but thats it. He will never physically be more than decent in this league. Even with a defensive stud like Gobert behind him he creates weakness. I would play him more next year just to increase his market value and trade with the best shot.

This thread is funny.

Lyles hasn't played in months despite Favors being injured for much of the season and Boris Diaw being several years past his prime. Unbelievable
