I know D Will had his problems, he was probably leaving and all of that...

... but anything even close to this seems so far off from where we are. Playoffs!? playoffs!? Playoff series win? Dynamic player in the playoffs? Good god, I think it could be a long *** time. Al-ball is the law of the land. Our best young players are still far far away from any sort of playoff-leading ability. Our future PG -- in the best case scenario -- shot 2-12 against South Dakota in the NCAA tournament tonight. I am trying to picture an exciting team that we expect to win and will at least have always have a shot and all I can see are images of Corbin, Watson and Jefferson floating around in my head. It is depressing.

Eric Bledsoe is playing in the tourney?
Just like KOC did with Big Al, i think he laid the groundwork for a trade at the deadline. It didn't happen this year because LAC have no guarantee CP3 will re-sign. But once he does, they'll have to trade Bledsoe. Utah has two 1st-rounders. I think the lottery pick (unless it's top-3) is a player they'll be selecting for the Clippers and they'll trade the rights to that player to LAC once CP3 signs on the dotted line.

If this happens, it'd be amazing and reps for life!!

Sloan had his faults, but good hell the offense was a thing of beauty. Crisp cuts, good screens, good slip of screens, and of course great passing (more to do with Dwill than Sloan). Also the spacing was really good.

Guys, don't want to raid on your funerals but there is no more that DWill. There is only shell of him then self. Whiny, half-injured, out of shape shell.
You could very well watch Stockton's highlights.

Oh, and we are not getting Bledsoe because he is crap and nothing more than a MoWill like stop-gap.
Thanks for reading.

Imagine if Al had never been brought here at all. We would be watching Kanter dominate the post in Sloan/Johnson's offense right now. We would probably be the sixth/fifth seed with a shot at home court advantage...

Frickin' Al.

Why don't we ever run the pick and roll?

The one time staple of our offense is gone.

And the elbow jumper?

I don't see any of that anymore.

Imagine if you put that D-Will and our C4 right now.

Also, I said some things after the game yesterday gushing about how Hayward took over the offense during that run in Houston and how it reminded me of how Deron took over games. Yeah, I was exaggerating. I guess I've just forgotten what it's like to watch a Jazz player take over a ball game

The offense used to be about the high PnR, the elbow jumper, multiple options through PnR and other sets, down-screens, rub off cuts, and motion.

Now all I see are 4 guy standing around while Al posts up 10 feet off the 3 point line. Even our young bigs are being utilized mainly as post up threats for the iso post up offense. Depressing times in Jazzland. Even if the young 4 do excel, if our offense still ****ty, what is the point?

Frankly, in addition to missing the Stockton and Malone era....I'm home sick for those playoff wins against Golden State back when Deron, Boozer and Klinko teamed up to kick the butts of that hip hop bunch of punks about 5 years ago???

If Kanter had been so good that he would be dominating right now, he never would have fallen to 3 in the draft.

I guarantee that there will be a player available at Utah's picks this year that will be a quality starting point guard within 2 years.

Now rep me bitches.

That series was one of my favorites in the history of Jazz basketball.

There was Deron Williams in game 2 (the greatest game he's ever played). Carmelo's people of Utah. Fesenko's people of Denver. And of course

"BOOM, BITCHES!"

Who I miss most on that team, who we could have realistically kept here and not broken the bank for... Wesley Mathews

It's been allllllllll downhill from the day we let Mathews get away. KOC needed to extend him during the season before giving anyone a chance at him... SUPER Fail by KOC. Probably his biggest mistake ever, imo.

You don't know that. No matter how good or bad Kanter is/was, his draft stock wouldn't change because he didn't play at Kentucky. He has put up staggering numbers when he has gotten minutes.

You honestly think if Al had never been here and Kanter had played 20+ mins a night last year and close to 30 in a REAL offense under a Hall of Fame coach who coached players like Malone, Boozer, Memo, etc that he wouldn't be much, much better?

AK is the biggest mistake. AK's max deal cost us a shot at a title. Al is #2. Wes is #3.

AK and Ostertag are this franchises biggest mistakes. Both their contracts might have cost us 3+ titles.

Yet, if the Jazz resign Al they will be repeating history.

Meh, if DWill didn't have a ****** (female anatomical part) he would have quickly realized that Gordon Hayward could have made VERY similar contributions to Wes Matthews.

The DWill of 2011-2012 was not the same, and he hasnt been the same since. We sold DWill at the highest stock he will probably ever be at.

KOC made out like a bandit, and we had the assets to thrive as a team after the trade was made.

If our team falters in the future, it won't be because of the Deron Williams trade-- it will be completely on how we dealt with our plethora of assets.
