What's new

I'm watching D-Will playoff highlights against Denver from 2010 and its making me sad

what a fun series that was. and williams was amazing. Those were fun times to be a jazz fan, in retrospect of course.

Just makes it even more clear how disheveled our offense truly is now.

You don't know that. No matter how good or bad Kanter is/was, his draft stock wouldn't change because he didn't play at Kentucky. He has put up staggering numbers when he has gotten minutes.

In order to dominate in his second year in the league, Kanter would have had to test out as an athletic freak. He would have been an automatic #1 pick.

You honestly think if Al had never been here and Kanter had played 20+ mins a night last year and close to 30 in a REAL offense under a Hall of Fame coach who coached players like Malone, Boozer, Memo, etc that he wouldn't be much, much better?

You do realize Kanter was drafted after Sloan quit, right? This is only his second year.

Meh, if DWill didn't have a ****** (female anatomical part)

Having female anatomical parts is not an insult or bad thing.

I didn't know you'd be offended...

I'm with One Brow, it's unnecessary and rude. Your point can be made without this stuff, and it is offensive to many.

While it is not my crusade I back up The Brow and think the board would be better served to leave this stuff out of our posting.

I don't disagree. I thought it was just tongue-in-cheek, and I was trolling a little. I did not mean to offend anyone, and I apologize if I did.

many straight men don't mind having female anatomical parts on or near their face. Not sure i see where you are coming from.

Reading comprehension fail.

The entire 2007-2010 era of Jazz basketball feels like a blur. I never expected it to crumble as fast as it did. That Denver series was a thing of beauty. I didn't expect Utah to win and even when they tied the series 1-1 in Denver, and stole home court, I still didn't expect them to win. Sure, it led to a sweep in the second round - but that 4/5 match-up is looking pretty good right now, eh?

Want to be more depressed? Go watch game seven of the Houston series from 2007. That was the pinnacle of the post-1990s Jazz and it wasn't very lasting. I remember when Utah won that game and then managed to advance to the WCF - it felt like the franchise was on the verge of something great.

Meh

AK and Ostertag are this franchises biggest mistakes. Both their contracts might have cost us 3+ titles.

Yet, if the Jazz resign Al they will be repeating history.

....I don't think we ever paid Tag more than 5 million per year! He was overpaid, but not nearly as bad as Klinko! How Ostertag hurt the Jazz was his hands of stone! Stockton would have had at least another 500-1,000 assists if not for that fact!!!

♪ ♫ Deron come back! You can blame it all on us. We were wrrrong, and we just can’t live with out cha! ♪ ♫

I hope he does come back someday. He is one of my favorite players ever. He may be struggling lately, but I think he is better than that. A lot of things just aren't going his way right now. I don't think that Deron's play when he was here was a fluke. I still think he is a top point guard when healthy and on the right team.

Eric Bledsoe is playing in the tourney?
Just like KOC did with Big Al, i think he laid the groundwork for a trade at the deadline. It didn't happen this year because LAC have no guarantee CP3 will re-sign. But once he does, they'll have to trade Bledsoe. Utah has two 1st-rounders. I think the lottery pick (unless it's top-3) is a player they'll be selecting for the Clippers and they'll trade the rights to that player to LAC once CP3 signs on the dotted line.

I'd think i'd Take Burke over Bledsoe.

That was one of the best playoff series I've seen. Jazz were completely outgunned... Except for 1 position... Dwill.

Adrian Dantley was considered a top coaching prospect... Until after that series. Sloan dismantled him.
