Immigration to Australia

Dear Aussie friends,

We are so irritated from the recent elections and the direction of Turkey. Me and my wife decided to ensure the future of our newborn son by moving to Australia. I'll take IELTS on 6th of September. After then, I plan to apply. I've never been in Australia though.

My wife is Environmental Engineer, but doesn't speak English well enough to take the test. She is quick study, I believe she'll catch up in a few months of course in Australia.

Do you have any suggestions?

Wow man. Bummer. I just cannot say anything about this. This decision is totally subjective. I understand your state, as you are a fresh father. I wish you and your nice and growing family the best.

sweet news.
hope you will be happier than you are ever dreaming of.
I have two cousins down there, and they are on a roll.
I am just too rich to leave middle east tho
:(

I thought you were going to Canada, man. Good luck, I heard from some people that they love it there.

I have to pay 6k bucks during application and it's nonrefund, even if they don't accept your application. That's the tricky part.

More conservative, Islamic country instead of secular and modern one.

Wow that's both a bit sad and alarming... Australia is pretty good... lots happening there, economy is good, weather is good, people are active... I think it's definitely a good move.

Just curious - have you considered other European countries? Since Turkey is in the Euro Zone, wouldn't it be easier to move around in Europe?

I want to start a new life in a more promising country. Europe is good for tourism, but when it comes to immigration, you immediately become scum in their eyes.

I'll apply for green card lotto for 2016 on October, too.

Why not Canada? I think it is much easier than Australia....About 10X bigger legal immigration numbers allowed and planned every year than in Australia.

Might be Canada, too. First I have to get some numbers from IELTS. Canada charges 1250 C$ for application.

Isn't Canada kinda cold though? Australia is nice and warm.

Depends on where you live. If you love nature, Canada is the place. I visited banff a year go, and it was just gorgeous. If you like huge cities, toronto and Vancouver are good. Canada is a great place to live fo sho

Australia have kangaroos tho

Did you visit Canada in Winter or Summer? Every place is nice in Summer, wait until Winter and see if you can survive there first.

I live in a city which the temperature does not go below 32 degrees now. It'll be hard for me to adjust the weather in Canada.
