Actually, I think the vets will win. Both Al and Millsap will often command the double teams, clearing out the space for the 3-point shooters and Mo/Foye are much better at hitting quick or contested 3-pointers than Hayward or Burks (and even Marvin does it better than Carrol). Plus Mo's ballhandling is better than Burks' or Hayward's: he can penetrate, collapse the defense and dish out better than them.

On the other side of the court there is no need to doubleteam Favors, and Big Al is probably the best big in the league to guard Kanter one-on-one - he taught Kanter most of his low post moves and can easily recognize which one he is going to pull on him and what Kanter's limitations are. After all, quite a bit of Kanter's success in the recent games is due to the fact that the opponents do not have enough scouting on him - unlike Jefferson. The only chance the young team has is if Foye turns stone cold (which happens rather often lately), or Mo gets stuck in the (unsuccessful) hero ball. If Foye is reasonably hot and Mo plays on his November-December level ... then the young squad does not stand a chance.

I guess this may have been discussed on TNT, NBATV, or somewhere else that the Jazz are the only team that their bench (when Gordon wasn't starting) could beat the 5 starters TyCo was rolling out with every night. So who do you think would win a 5 v 5 game?

Mo
Foye
Marvin
Millsap
Jefferson

vs.

Burks
Hayward
Carroll
Favors
Kanter

...both squads would struggle scoring big time! Possibly the all time lowest scoring game in NBA history! Shooting percentages would be in the low 20's! Turnovers would double, maybe triple total assists! I would rather watch guys chewing tobacco, while having their faces licked by a dog, with there bodies covered in jailhouse tats!

Wow, I would pay to see this game (not a lot mind you, but I would go watch it for sure)

In fact I would expand it some, I would make it a five game series.

Also, Carroll is not a core player, I might use Evans at the three with his developing mid range shot. I'm not sure they would lose anything and we all know what Evans brings.

Then you have the remaining five on the bench for BOTH teams to sub in and out when players fatigue. Either that or flip a coin and then have both teams go back and forth selecting their bench with a random summer league player to make it six total subs, thee per team.

I would pay to watch that.

No coaches. Rec league ball.

By the way, I voted for the Vets (!@!!!!@!!!) because it is so close and the vets would likely play desperate defense because of their fear of losing their jobs to the young core players, and that combined with their experience would win. Now over 82 games, the vets would probably do what they have done and that is slack off on defense, because that is what they are doing NOW.
