In Defense of CJ

Everyone on here seems to hate CJ. I'm not one of them. Yes, his inconsistency has been a disappointment, but you have to give him credit for the D he played on Kobe last night.

Eh. It was ok. I thought he played defense with his hands a lot. A lot of swiping and poking. The refs let him get away with it, so it was good. But, a lot of nights it just sends Kobe to the foul line.

In other words, his defense was good, I just didn't see it as very fundamentally strong.

But, I'll take it. Congrats CJ, you did something good. Lets memorialize it with a thread.

You don't think 3-20 had anything to do with the Jazz D? It did get Kobe frustrated and got into his head. Otherwise, it would've been 30 plus for Kobe and an easy Laker win.

I was listening to Locke Podcast and he said it was more to do with Bryant off night then CJ defense although he did credit CJ a little bit. Kobe got open looks, he just missed those shots.

After 7 years, I'm weary of cutting CJ slack for having 1 good game every 10 or so.

That guy has been around long enough to prove himself, yet all he's proven is that he's unreliable.

I'm not a big CJ fan but if Jazz have no intention of re-signing him next year don't you think they should have gotten anything they could by trading him this year?
Any draft pick they could.
Any player they could.
So is this a sign they want to keep him?

Most teams don't worry about not getting anything in return for a player like CJ.

They usually worry about that with guys like Deron, Melo, Lebron, Dwight...those kinds of guys.

The jazz let AK go without getting anyone in return and nobody cared.

He's getting better. I think he has a good game ever 3 or so. Just play him every third game. ...unless it's a road game. In fact, don't even buy him a plane ticket. He can stay in Utah all season.
