It is annoying that everyone assumes because Jimmer is white he is un-athletic. I honestly believe if you changed Jimmer’s skin color to black he would be considered the number one overall draft pick in this year’s draft. He looks a little lacking on the defensive side because the emphasis BYU placed on not getting him in foul trouble. Just for fun lets do a comparison between him and DWill coming out of college.

An average defensive player whose size allows him to be effective against many starting point guards. Would probably be more effective (like he was in college) if he wasn’t relied upon so heavily on the other end of the floor. Big and strong enough to push around most of the players he is matched up with. Is one of the league’s best at taking charges. Will get down in a stance and work to stay in front of his man, but lacks the lateral quickness and consistent focus to do so consistently. Gets beat of the dribble when he’s forced to close out. Does a solid job fighting through screens. Will keep his man from blowing by him when he’s playing one-on-one, but will give up a lot of midrange looks. Rebounds the ball at a solid rate for a point guard. Comes up with some steals due to his quick hands. Won’t deflect a lot of passes, forcing most of his turnovers on the ball. Commits quite a few fouls for a point guard, using his size too aggressively. Will play great defense in spurts, but is forced to play too many minutes to be able to put in the type of effort needed to maintain that same level of intensity for an entire game.

Jimmer better than deron or even close? I don't think so, but I do think he could be a solid point guard in the league. Everyone knows about his scoring ability but if you watched a lot of his game you'd see flashes of being an above average passer as well. I think he just took it on himself to take all the shots because well he was easily the best option on the team. Even his horrible defense was by Dave rose design to keep him fresh to play 40 minutes. I think putting him in a secondary role like he will be in the NBA will be good for his overall game

I stopped reading after this. Your post is too long to justify reading when you start off with statements like this. Scouts/GMs don't care about skin color like some fans do. This is a stupid statement.
 
If Kemba and Jimmer switched places do you think UConn still would have won the Nat'l Championship?

The games I watched in the Tourney he was terrible at it. Draftexpress agrees with me on their video evaluation.

What Ben said. The coach himself said that almost exactly, that they did not expect him to play defense so he could be ready on offense and so he wouldn't pick up fouls to limit his time. He was trying very hard to cover for Jimmer's crappy defense.
 
I don't think the OP should be annoyed at the things people are saying about Jimmeny because, assuming he is correct, the result will be that the Jazz are going to steal a franchise player at 12. I don't think the OP is correct, but since the Jazz are going to take JF anyway, I hope I'm wrong.

BTW, although I don't like the pick from a basketball standpoint from a marketing standpoint it's a no-brainer.
 
tHAT POST is borderline racist and dwill coming out of college played against superior comp and played with other good players. THis a joke, Jimmer even if black doesnt play defense and is short. Short wing span also. Khalid el amin was black and not a pro and won a title and w as twice player in college then jimmer . Being short and slow will hurt you in nba
