In Wake of Trump, Democrats Suddenly Discover Freedom of Association

This is JUST TOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY!

pretty ironic and EPIC!

On Thursday, Madison Square Garden Company boss James Dolan announced that the Radio City Rockettes had to perform at the Trump inauguration. And the Rockettes went off their rockers. One Rockette wrote:

I usually don’t use social media to make a political stand but I feel overwhelmed with emotion. Finding out that it has been decided for us that Rockettes will be performing at the Presidential inauguration makes me feel embarrassed and disappointed. The women I work with are intelligent and are full of love and the decision of performing for a man that stands for everything we’re against is appalling. I am speaking for just myself but please know that after we found out this news, we have been performing with tears in our eyes and heavy hearts. We will not be forced! #notmypresident

George Takei, an ardent Trump opponent, tweeted in their support:

Meanwhile, Anthony Bourdain has announced that he won’t eat at any restaurant hosted at Trump Tower; fashion icon Andre Leon Talley has said he won’t dress Melania anymore; artists whose products hang in Ivanka Trump’s apartment have asked her to remove their art.

Well, well.

Suddenly, it seems, the left has discovered freedom of association. After years of telling religious people that they had a moral and legal obligation to throw out their religion and serve same-sex weddings, provide contraception, and fund abortion, the left now realizes that the ability to pick and choose those to whom you give your services is actually rather vital.

Don’t expect it to last.

Of course artists should be able to turn down clients. So should religious bakers. But you won’t see the left acknowledge that. The only freedom to turn down clients is the freedom for leftists to turn down conservative and religious clients, not the other way around.

this is just wonderfull!

the left is promoting a libertarian idea called: FREEDOM of ASSOCIATION!

after BAKE THAT CAKE! now we HAVE JUST SHUT UP AND PREFORM!

of course i believe they should be free to not preform! but this is just irony and too FUNNY!

I remember george takei being super pro "bake THAT CAKE", now he is complaining trololololololololololol!

The people on the left have gone completely off the rails, and are showing the most extreme examples of how hypocritical a human being can be.

baker: i Don't wanna BAKE THAT GAY CAKE!
LEFT: BAKE THAT CAKE RIGHT NOW!!! *pulls out GUN called government* bake it or we take your bakery

Dancers: I Don't wanna dance for trump
LEFT: how DARE YOU MAKE THEM DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL

At this point, it is evident that ideological proponents of leftwing "religions" or religious elements of beliefs, are no better at balance and fairness than Medieval Statists promoting state religions.

Once people believe they are just right, and take upon themselves the mantle of leadership towards a better world, all kinds of values go by the wayside. Equal Protection under the law, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Association, rights of conscience. ....

Personally, I'd bake their cakes, and charge good money for it.

And sing and dance for Trump.

good cus the government and the UNIONS(which are government backed) decides what you do with your body! THEY OWN IT!

IF YOU REFUSE WE WILL PUNISH YOU!!!

Apples and oranges comp going on here.

I'd get involved in the conversation but it's all about left this, liberal that. Kind of takes any hope of a serious discussion off the table.

sure some of us righties are hipocrites too!

but i love that the left is finally seeing how fun freedom of association.

That sort of thinking sounds like a man----or woman--- believing they "own" their mate. abusive psychology, yes. reality, no.

when the Statists finally lock down Asylum Earth believing they have it under control, a form of madness will envelope the minds of the controllers, like Stalin's history of sending his best helpers off to the gulag whenever people seemed to start liking them. While united in the quest of accumulating power, it's one thing. When apportioning power between themselves, it's another.

The only stable form of governance is limited government. The more limited, the more stable.

i disagree there is nothing stable about limited govenrment. it will always GROW. united states federal government started out as limited government. it has grown!
it is the best form of government, but people are not vigilant to keep government limited! so i would say best form of government but not stable

you fail to recognize the truths laid out by the brooding genius of San Francisco, Michael Savage, on Savage Nation. "Liberalism" is a mental disorder. Well, actually "Conservatism" is a mental disorder too. Ideological belief detached from reality.

It's a mistake to think the Hillaries will actually decide to embrace a free-standing principle like "Freedom of Association". Everything in their minds is bent to serve their agenda. They will say anything that advances their agenda, and change it all tomorrow if the agenda seems to require it. Lies are validation of commitment to the cause, validation of the higher good of their cause.

If Trump were an ideological believer like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul, I'd have to worry about him too. The real question for Trump is whether or not he will use the Constitution as anything more than a cattle call for his conservative base.

I'd think you might analyze the history of Israel in the Old Testament, noting how Moses set out Levites to serve the nation in all tribes. But Solomon sent his calvary around to bust up the altars in the outlying regions, and set up Jerusalem as the center of the faith. The Priests of Jerusalem re-wrote the Law to suit Solomon, and Solomon wrote a bunch of nonsense setting himself up as the Wise One. Israel was no longer a stable nation after that.

I recognize your point that ambitious men will always seek to accumulate power, but what makes a government stable is the ability of ordinary people to throw the bums out.

Its weird that liberals get offended by being called liberals. Is that due to the nature of liberals getting offended so easily? Or is it because they know that being liberal is douchey? Or both?

Really, think about it. If you call a conservative a conservative, do you think they would be offended by that? I dont think that they would.

or in this case gameface agrees this is uytter and total lunacy. and he finally agrees with the right wing principle of "freedom of association"

Jackie Evancho is defying what seems to be conventional entertainment wisdom -- that singing at Donald Trump's inauguration is career-threatening -- because she just shot to #1 on the charts.

We're told since the America's Got Talent runner-up has signed on to sing "The Star Spangled Banner" on January 20th, her weekly album sales quadrupled in digital downloads and in retailer as well. In fact her album, "Someday at Christmas," had to be restocked twice.

Jackie's album jumped to #1 on the Billboard Classical Albums chart.
