What's new

Interesting Tweets about the Jazz post.

Didn't Minnesota want Bell earlier?

I'd bet it's Bell we're giving up. Minny was interested in him, and they need some veterans in a hurry. I don't even see CJ Miles worth one spot. I'm betting Washington is willing to give up much more to nab Kanter.

Anyone who says Milsap is who we're trading for one spot is taking crazy pills. Milsap is worth 1 or 2 alone, nevermind packaging him with one of our picks.......even then I wouldn't take Irving or Williams over a proven double/double.

That would be a dream come true. Getting rid of Bell and move up one spot in the draft.

Isn't Sap redundant if the Jazz gar Williams?

A bit, but both can co-exist. Start Dwill at SF, Sap at PF. Take Sap out first of any of the starters, sub in Favors. Then when Williams goes out, sub in Sap at the SF?

Not if the Jazz believe he can play the 3, like Williams adamantly says. Maybe they've seen something in him that suggest he could be a solid SF. I really hope this is the case.

I hope Jonny Flynn isn't part of our package if this goes down. And also I love Derrick Williams' game but he isn't a superstar lock so I would be careful throwing everything at a deal to move a spot.

I'm calling BS on Sap's involvement for the Jazz to move up one spot. Could be Memo if there's some solid interior report that he's through and he'd be a salary dump. Other reasonable options would be Bell plus next year's second or, and I hate this almost as much as the idea of Sap for one spot, this year's 3 and the lower of next year's picks.

If we got Dwill 2 and are not convinced he can be a full time 3, then it makes sense to move Millsap if we got an asset in return. Wesley Johnson maybe?

So? Picking up Miles's option as far as I know is a 10 second affair. They just have to sign a form.

awesome! I think he's gone.
I'm still stubbornly refusing the notion that Millsap will be traded.

Harris's head is also on the block; I'm sure Minn would rather have him than Flynn.....

It says Minny wants salary relief so why wouldn't the Jazz trade Okur's expiring contract to them for Ridnor and someone else.

They'd probably like to get rid of Ridnor and Flynn now that Rubio is coming over. Maybe we take Ridnor and Washington takes Flynn (as a backup for Wall). Memo's contract could also absorb Lazar Hayward's contract, that is, if Minn was sure they didn't want to develop him over the next 3 years. He could make a good bench guy for us.

EDIT: obviously this is just a part of a bigger deal. We then give Minn something else to move up to #2 and they get something else from WASH to move from #6 to #3

No thanks.

Hold at 3 and 12.

Our team sucks. And Minny's garbage doesn't help us.

We need to get as many good players in the draft as possible. We cannot build via free agency (since no one wants to come to a small market team in Utah). Hopefully build a championship team via the draft. Some picks will work out while others won't. Lets try and keep as many picks as possible to increase our chances.

Perhaps KOC can find a way to include Bell, Miles and Tomic and we get #2, Johnson, Wall and Minnesota's second rounder.

I'm with Thriller (except I don't think our team especially sucks). I hope we stay at 3 & 12 unless the move to 2 only involves Okur (who I've always liked but who may be done realistically -- these situations are like putting down a pet), Bell and/or next year's 2nd rounder.

Or, on reading infection's post, I'd include Tomic in this list. Forgot all about that guy!

I'd hold at #3 unless we can get Irving.

Yeah, I'm fine with Williams or Kanter so losing an asset (Millsap) just to move up one spot is annoying.
Don't do it unless the Jazz get more - like a 2012 pick.
