I totally get not wanting to give players for free….but let’s be clear here, the cost of keeping them around isn’t free. You are losing draft position by keeping them. You have decide if their future value with the team is worth what you think their detriment is to tanking.

You’re understanding incorrectly. I’m saying those are the two players who we got more than what people were saying here. People wanted to get rid of them for less than we eventually got. We (as fans) undersold them.
Gotcha. My bad

Ya we need coach to lean into the tank more.
Last night was extremely loseable. Just would have taken a few coaching decisions to secure the loss.

But I get it though. Easier said than done.

Except the Jazz have shown they are willing to sit players, especially after the deadline.

I would say "No" but not for winning culture. You dont just give away players for free. I dont think the Jazz are that far away if they able to land Cooper. Yeah, it's a long shot, but everything is a longshot when you are trying to build a contender based off some draft luck.

You get Cooper and you suddenly have a really good team.

Collier
Keyonte
Cooper
Lauri
Walker

with Clarkson/Collins/Hendricks/Sexton off the bench. With Filipowski/Sensabaugh/Williams/Harkless/Juzang on the deep bench with potential to step-up with development or be consolidated with draft assets into another star.

And maybe you get even luckier and Minnesota is in the lottery. Maybe you get even luckier and their pick jumps into the top 4.
At this rate we won’t be bad enough to land Flagg.

They've been grimey all year, but it also depends on the extent to which they do it. It's not a black/white thing. There is some non-zero amount of games that they will play from here to the end of the season and they will likely lead us to wins that we wouldn't have without him. It could not have any impact, or it could be the case that one more win loses us positioning and lotto balls. Unless they are playing them zero games there is a cost.
