What does 2004-2006 matter at all !!!!! Holy ****ing ****!!!!!! Damn, leave please. Your presence here was bad when AK was decent, now you being here is so not needed.

I love that AK is "running like a young deer", and all the Tpup fans are salivating. Wait until the rigors of the NBA season splatter that deer all over that 82 game truck.

Or wait until he's missed a couple of 3's, then the opposing forward just steps back and leaves him wide open daring him to shoot another. AK will have that "deer in the headlights" look. But he'll shoot anyway and hit nothing but net (unfortunately, the outside of the net).

I should join a TPup board. It's going to be very interesting once the honeymoon is over and they start to mumble about his often wild shot selection. And yes, it will be very amusing if/when he goes down with an ankle sprain and then misses 2 weeks. And even better, when he has an average, but not great season and then opts in at $10M next year, preventing Minnesota from making other moves to keep Love.

Why isn't there a "hell no" option? :)

As much as I liked AK while he was here, he was overpaid. Apparently Minnesota didn't watch much tape of his last few years in the NBA, because they overpaid too.

Based on his performance, I think a fair price for him is the mid-level exception. Fortunately for him, I guess there's at least one team that hopes he may revert to all-star AK and is willing to pay him as if he will. I'll believe it when I see it.

You csan get All-Star free agents for only $10 million? Since when?

Well, the TPups DIDN'T get an all-star FA for $10M. When was the last time AK was an all-star?
That would be like Utah offering Memo a contract for $1.5M and declaring they signed an all-star for the minimum.

My point was that if you are signing an All-Star free agent, you'd expect to pay a lot more than $10 million. So, the claim that Minnesota thought they were signing an All-Star-level Kirilenko for $10 million is silly.

I was going to say since we signed Mo Williams but he was a trade, not a FA signing.

and plus, mo's not an all-star either. he was a one-time selection based on the faulty logic that the best team in the conference needs to have two all-stars even if their top guy is the best current player on the planet, and even that was 4 seasons ago. in the 3 seasons since that one he has been, in this order: an awful enough sidekick that lebron james left his childhood team for less money elsewhere, then a 13-ppg scorer on the worst team in basketball, then a backup.

calling mo an all-star is a reach, and that wasn't 1B's point anyway... his point is that 10M isn't exactly the going rate for a bona fide all-star.
