I disagree. I know it's easy to take shots a Kanter, but we can't blame him for everything. Having poor defenders around a good defensive center will make the center look better as he gets more opportunities to block shots and protect the rim. Blake Griffin is a poor defender but that doesn't make Deandre Jordan look worse, it makes him look better. The same can be said for Tyson Chandler and Dirk, or Bogut and David Lee.

I don't think this is true at all.

so last night we saw a lot of Rudy and Favors together. It was okay, but nothing that will make us contenders. Rudy is a difference maker, but until we have someone who can take over games (Rudy Gay last night) and force our team to a win, it won't matter who is or is not stepping up inside. Favors and Rudy will never be our "go to guy". Hayward has shown he is a great second option. Exum is really tentative..... when he goes to the hole he always passes. Last night was tough to watch because Exum showed nothing and I mean nothing that makes me think he is anything more than a back up. I pray I'm wrong. I know..... to early, Panic much etc....

I think may be you confused Rudy and Booker, for Rudy and Favors.

In order for this to happen Favors would need to lose weight. This is a move for next season

I don't think Favors will need to lose a whole lot of weight, just enough to be a bit more mobile. I'd rather try this combination during the season now as we're not gonna make the playoffs anyway. Moreover, Favors is so good defensively that he'll be able to make it work - and like someone else said above, he can't be worse than what Kanter is doing now. He can keep up with most PFs unless the opponents throw you Carmelo or LeBron.

Did Favors and Gobert even play together at all last night?

Have they ever played together?

If they have played together this season, it has been less than 10 minutes combined.

Jazz see Rudy as a center, jazz must see Favors as a center. I want to see what they can do together, although as Locke and Boone said last night, if the jazz do that then the second unit of Enes/Booker gives up 100 points.

On. Positive note, can you guess the player Rudy has been on the court with the most often?

The other future star...Dante Exum.

Yeah, they played like 3 or 4 minutes the other night together in garbage time, I think.

I confess. I am a terrible typist when in a hurry. I meant we saw a little of them. I still don't think it's great. XOXO T.

But like I said, are we gonna make the playoffs this season? If not, why not try out the Gobert/Favors pairing this year and work out all the kinks for next year. We'll also get a GREAT draft pick in the offseason.

Gobert
Favors
Stanley Johnson or Justice Winslow (both locked down defenders)
Hayward
Exum

That's a lineup I am excited to see.

Oh, I agree with you one love, I want to see if Gobert and favors can work together. I fact, IMO, the jazz have to figure out if Favors and Kanter can play with Gobert and who he pairs better with. He is the future, someone is going to be the odd man out.

Kanter has got to go. Sorry, but if I see one more of his shots get blocked I'm gonna go jump off the cliff. And I haven't even started on his defensive ability....

Gobert/Favors defensively has the chance to be ELITE. Add a locked down defender at the SF spot and Exum at the PG, our defensive future is BRIGHT.

So why have they played 8 minutes together? I guess the coach sees them in practice, why not play them together in a game and see what happens?

Snyder's thing is floor spacing. Favors/Gobert offer none of that, especially when Exum is in the game.

I think Quin is still in that 'win now' mode??? They need at least 1 defensive big in the 2nd unit, hence Gobert & Favors not playing together all that often.

Right now neither is Kanter. Honestly Favors is providing as much if not more spacing than Kanter with that 15 jumper he hits at the top of the key.

Nope. Kanter is definitely shooting much better than Favors and has more range. He is %38 from left corner and above the break. He is just 1 of 6 from right corner which kills his percentage.
