Is hayward freezing out kanter?

To change the subject a bit, I have seen Hayward stop guys and direct them on the floor as to where they should be defensively. I saw him stop Favors and point to where he should be one time. I don't know how often he's doing this with these guys, but I would be interested to hear if anyone else has seen stuff like this.

I mention it here because if Hayward is trying to lead, and is having a hard time leading Kanter maybe that plays into this elusive "freezing out" theory?

Yes I have noticed this type of thing too.

I really have no complaints about Hayward so far this year

Rumor has it that Hayward suffered a devastaing loss to Kanter in League of Legends...their relationship has never been the same since.

I don't know if he has been freezing out Kanter. But, in the last couple of games Burks and Kanter have been out playing Hayward and Favors. Yet, it still seems like Hayward is getting every possession during crunch time. I would like to see what Kanter or Burks could do. Hayward has made some clutch shots. But, he doesn't seem that efficient when he is trying to take over. I would have to say that he is a million times better this year then he has looked in the past. So, I will eat my words on him being a complete swing and a miss. He has played up to his new contract this year IMO.

Who is an efficient crunch time player? Lebron, Harden and KD are who comes to mind. Or in other words the 3 best offensive players in the league.

Is passing teachable? Can a players iq increase as he becomes more familiar with the game heading into his early 20's?

The BBIQ can improve but most players who can pass do from their first games in the league. See Exum.

Passing can improve for sure, but there is also an unteachable side of passing. Some players are just naturals at passing and can anticipate movement on the court very well, some can't. Kanter is on the far end of the negative side of the spectrum.

Favors was also towards that end, but he has shown the IQ to know where players should be in the offense when he catches the ball in the paint. Still not a very good passer, but he has been average for a starting center. I see Favors progressing.

Whenever I see Kanter catch the ball towards the rim, he doesn't even really seem to scan the court and take in information. He only seems worried about his man. Doesn't even recognize double teams until it's too late. Doesn't seem sure of where teammates are on the court. All that could get better with experience, but he doesn't really seem to have a great desire to improve his passing. I think Favors has shown that desire.
