What's new

Is it really that far fetched to see D will in Jazz uni again?

Well, for one thing the Jazz are over the salary cap so DWill would have to sign for an exception. Not too much chance of that. Or else there would have to be a sign & trade with the Nets. Probably not too much chance of that, either.

What part of amnesty Harris

Don't you understand?

Actually, the Jazz couldn't offer DWill the max 30%, which will be around $18mm, but could give him almost $17 starting.

BTW if you had reading comprehension skills you could easily read that his ability to move on may not be as clear as you seem to indicate.

Nothing he said says he wants to come back and play for the Jazz. Nothing.
Go ahead and keep crying over a guy who **** on this franchise, its no bother to me, its just sad.

lol....

some of you guys just dont give up. GET OVER IT. DERON DOESN'T WANT TO BE HERE.
Once you accept it, the faster you will be able to get over it. Move on already. He has.

"HERE"? I've heard that he is interested in playing in Dallas, but I'd be delighted if you're right.

How many players say "IM GOING TO SIGN WITH TEAM X WHEN IM A FREE AGENT LOL"? How many times does it even come to fruition?

Do you think we could sign-and-trade CJ for him and just give back the pick they gave us in the Memo deal?

LOL if he did come back, it'll be the best feel good story of the NBA for decades and how Nets got owned by KOC. D-will will always miss Utah. Good thing we traded him for some nice assets, but we can only dream that he would want to come back after being shipped out the way he did.

I dont disagree, but those teams all need to reload. That more than likely will take years.

Yep. Mavs and Lakers are aging. The Jazz are up & coming, especially if he came back. Not saying I think he will, but we were saying at my house last night that if he wants to win & stick around the next place he goes for a long time, it would make sense. From what I read he was very warm with KOC last night. But I still doubt he'd do it.

I liked Deron as much as most Jazz fans. I think it's wishful thinking to get him back. I just don't see it. We don't have the money and we don't have what he wants.

This would never ever happen. You guys do understand that he was extremely bitter about losing brewer, korver, matthews, and boozer. He hated what management was doing with the team. Then there is the whole Karl Malone and Greg Miller fiasco. I don't see it happening ever. Be happy with what we do have.

Deron will never play for the Jazz again, but I think it's funny how most fans just assume that it's because Deron doesn't want to come back. IMO the front office wouldn't welcome him back even if he had interest in returning. I think Greg Miller and KOC are/were extremely unhappy with how Deron handled himself during the end of his time in this orginization. The fact that Deron was traded AFTER Sloan had already left is pretty telling.

As some posters have already said in here, this team is building great chemistry. Why jeopordize that by bringing back a tempermental "superstar"? It's been mentioned by the likes of Bolerjack and Locke (IMO credible sources in regards to such matters) that Jazz management believe that D-Will is a great player whose tempermant is going to see him play for a variety of different teams and coaches during his career. I think that opinion is dead on.

I don't think Deron was all that sad when Boozer left.

Great assessment. Easy to forget that "free agents" still have to be pursued by teams, and I don't know if the Jazz would put themselves in a position to a) Take on D-Will's attitude, which seems to change a lot and b) Be seen as as the black market dealers of the NBA, trading a player away for a rental only to re-sign him as a free agent less than 2 years later.

We just need to add a couple pieces...young pieces who will buy into the system & be happy here...not cause trouble.

All it would take to have the money needed would be to amnesty Harris and Buyout Bell and not resign CJ or Howard or amnesty Big Al and buyout Bell.

If the Lakers are willing to go into luxury tax why did they trade Odom for nothing? Maybe the new luxury tax rules will even the playing field.

A better way to put it would be to go into luxury tax area for a worthy player. They would do that to land DWill.
