What's new

Is Lindsey going to take us back to 1996?

Well I guess I'm still finding "The One" ...

Does it get better?

Does having kids really take years off your life? Or is it like an eternal high?

I think it's more of a high. I love just playing with my kids. It makes me feel like a kid again.

I think dating is more of a 'high' than marriage for most.
Kids are hectic, an anchor.. but the very best things in the world, imo.

I can tell you this.. once you've been married and have kids, you'll like back at these years and say to yourself, "I did single all wrong."

If I had to do it over, I would work a job just to save enough money to buy a backpack and a ticket to Europe.. and I'd spend at least 4 - 6 months hitch-hiking, taking trains, whatever.. get odd jobs, sleep in the hills.. whatever. Things you'll never be able to do once you have people 'depending' on you.

Cause your kids were in high school in 96? Isn't that right Grandpa?

I said I was depressed because of kkk's answers.

In 1996 Kentucky killed it and won the NC.
In 1996 I was still two years before I was getting married.. so no kids.
Was living it up, big.

Combining all this into the perfect answer; Marriage takes years off your life, kids are awesome and a high.

:) Yep I definitely have plans for that for when I finished up here (I have a family business commitment ATM). Probably in 2-3 years time when I've saved enough to buy a house to rent out, then I can go around travelling, mission trips, etc, etc.

Probably not Europe though, most likely through Asia...

Yep.. the classic, "it's not the right time" that robs us all... it never is.

Yeah, I said Europe, but obviously that's interchangeable with whatever... just DOOOOOOO something.

When I get out of college
When I've saved 'x' amount of money
Once I get married
Once I have my first kid
Once I pay off my house
Once I get a better job
Once I retire
Once my hip feels better
In your last years.. I wish I had made time to for my dreams.
