NUMBERICA:would you mind explaining what to you is so easy to see? I made a statement about a group of people I know nothing about, just like he did. Is it just that mine was about physical appearance and his was about intellect and worth? If so, please see my thread entitled "Physical appearance vs. Intelligence: A Serious Question." And please share your thoughts on why you believe it is more acceptable to insult someone's intellect more than their physicals appearance. Doesn't the fact that HIS comment was UNPROVOKED mean anything? If your shove/knife analogy fits is it really so much worse to defend yourself then to attack for NO REASON????!!!??!?!?!?

I think I have a legitimate beef here. I've been infracted twice for responding to attacks with the same attacks. How is that fair? BOTH times I have been told that part of the reason was that the person who initially attacked me had been attacked before. So basically I get more punishment because others have mocked these people before...AFTER they mocked me!??!?!?!?!?

Actually your other infraction was for trolling. You received a warning (a.k.a. a slap on the wrist) for making a number of offensive and malicious comments about transgendered persons previously. If you're going to complain at least do so accurately.

I will give you the same advice that I give all posters who believe the moderating system is unfair: the internet is a wide world with many options for discussing basketball in the message board format. If you feel that your contributions are not policed fairly here feel free to take them elsewhere.

Thiis had NOTHING to to with my infractions.The first was for calling someone a troll after they had called me a troll. The second was for insulting a group of people someone know AFTER they insulted a gorup f people I know and me personally. If you're going to talk about my infractions at least do so acurately.
 
I give the edge to kicky, given that he has a very good reputation (the noun, not the board feature) on this board, and JSL is still a relative nube... and it's no question that when nubes are acting hackish, they should be taken care of by the vets.

Its like when JF bans spammers with 100 posts, compared to when Trout is allowed to promote his insurance business.

That's just internet law right there.
 
If it was presented to me that way it would make much more sense. Just say "You have received an infraction becuase you 'insulted' Sirkickyass or KatieDMC. They did not receive an infraction for doing the same thing to you first because they have been here longer." It would still be boodissy as all hell but at least it would be honest.

And for the record, I didn't vote on that one either. But if you think your previous behavior is NEVER considered when looking at new reports then you're fooling yourself. Especially when they are closely linked in time with one another.
 
Call it what you want. I was infracted for insulting someone who insulted me first. So how was what I said malicious or offensive? Why is it offensive to group people with similar qualities and questioning why they are grouped with dissimilar people? Do you just happen to hate people who want to change their appearance to some things but not others? Is that why you see it as a negative thing to say?

I said I went back and re-read the exchange. I did not deny that JS responded in kind, I said I viewed it as the "standard internet tough-guy exchange...attributing it to simple immaturity". I was not defending JS, but rather pointing out that, irritating as it might be, he has a point. I don't really care who gets what punishment out of this, I just called it as I saw it (hence the qualifier "FWIW"). But if someone can't see that kicky hurled the first insult/taunt in the exchange after reading it, I don't know what to tell them.
 
Wow, JohnStockalypse is arguing incessantly. Remind anybody of a previously banned poster or two?
 
And if you do go back through the thread, you'll notice that Bronco70 also agreed with what I said. But for some reason Sirkickyass only felt it was necessary to insult me and my freinds.

LOLLLLLL Are you Serious??? Who do you get called?? Including PMs and rep comments I've been called Sloanfeld, Millsappa, TroutBum, Slapper, Clutch, Hopper, and RosaParksFan!!! I don't even know who half of them are!!! Oh and "troll" but usually thats by other trolls who are allowed to call people trolls!!!!!
 
Someone guessed that I might be a trout duplicate not too long ago. When I first started posting (on the old board, under a different name), I was accused of being a dupe, but the accuser was so sure he was right that he left it up to me to guess who I really was.

But, I don't post much. See, you post at least 20 times as much as I do. So you're sure to be accused more often. I've seen lots of other duplicates come and go, and others accused of being dupes.
