Is Popovich the most overrated coach in all the history of sports?

...the only one on crack here is YOU!

Dont forget me. Im on crack too. No way I say the stuff I say without drugs.

Looks like pop is coaching good to me. I like his style. I like how he calls timeout quickly to correct something and put a foot in the players *** before they have time to screw it up. I like how his players play basketball too. Im sure he has something do with the decisive ball movement and team play.

Popovich just played the hand he was dealt....and he's played it well! Other coaches would mess up a one car funeral! Popovich knows his players, has an excellent system...and he has all his players buying into it! I can't tell you how many times I've seem him call a timeout, set up a play.....and see it run to perfection!!! Unlike most hopper types in today NBA, you can call a play for them....but evidently, the 10,000 times they went over it in practice.....weren't enough!

Does anyone remember a few years back when Ron Boone said something like "Poppovich became a great coach when the Spurs got Tim Duncan" during a game. I think he realized what he said and backtracked by saying that he's a great coach, but I thought that was hilarious.

Bull. Every successful coach needed talent. Sloan never made it to the championships again after Stock-Malone. Does that mean he was a bad coach?

No. But we would never have been sure he was a good coach if he had retired after they left.

He would not be considered all that great based on the record after S&M. Just another coach.

Didn't he lead that first team to a winning record? A team whose front line was Okur, Boozer, and Kirilenko to the conference finals once, and the second round once? That's doing a pretty good job.

...say what you want about Popovich, but he's about the only basketball coach I know that can call a timeout, draw up a play, and then have it executed to perfection!

One thing about Popovich this series that I have noticed is that he is a little too quick to pull his role players out after a bad play. He is giving all of them a really short leash, which I think is making them think the game out too much.
