Simple question.

I'm tired of the BS.

Would you like to live in a nation where the police kill your fellow citizens in the streets, or would you prefer that people be tried in a court of law?

Don't make it complicated. Just answer the question.

Police shouldn't be acting as police, judges, and executioners.

Also, we have a bill of rights that is supposed to protect citizens from these types of crimes. We should focus less on the 2nd amendment and more on amendments 4-8.

I do not want to live where police just willy-nilly gun people down in the street. I do not believe that is representative of where we live now, but I am in favor of police reform, and it needs to happen soon, like yesterday soon.

Also what is justice in this scenario? Cops killing people that didn't need to be killed is not justice. Neither is what is happening in NYC, Portland, Seattle, etc .... Especially NYC where violent crime is skyrocketing due to cops not being able to do their jobs.

So what is justice in this hypothetical non bs question?

Why can't NYC cops do their jobs?

Well they are getting 0 support from the city, the mayor and the governor. They are humans too. Tough to do a really hard job, for little pay, and then also be hated for it. I can understand just not wanting to deal with it.

I don't see that at all. Part of the police budget has been reallocated to other departments, but with that reallocation has come reduced services expected to be performed by the police. And that's better for everyone. Police are spread too thin and expected to do many jobs that are not real police work.

I understand that officers are feeling underappreciated right now (I work with them so I hear about it), but reform is needed. And change is always painful until it because normalized.

I'm curious where the idea that crime is skyrocketing in NYC is coming from?

Murder rates are up across the country (in red and blue areas), and they get the headlines, even though other types of violent crime are going down.

According to released grand jury testimony, it was Breonna Taylor who shot at police officers during a March 13 raid on her apartment, boyfriend Kenneth Walker allegedly told police before changing his story.

As noted by the outlet, “One of Taylor’s neighbors also told investigators that police had told her that ‘some drug-dealing girl shot an officer.'”

Links are often helpful. Here is a synopsis link:

“According to the Daily Mail, the Grand Jury was presented with evidence that at the scene, Taylor’s boyfriend told cops that it was in fact Taylor that shot at cops.

Among the recordings released is Officer Brett Hankison’s interview with investigators that said Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, had told him ‘she was the one who shot at us’.

Walker later confessed that he was the one who opened fire.”

Originally described in the British publication, The Daily Mail:

And this is very interesting, given that the warrant was for the purpose of searching for suspicious packages being delivered to Taylor’s home. A Postal Service inspector had already informed the police that no suspicious packages had been delivered to Taylor’s home, going back months:

Thanks for repeating everything I just said lol. Postal service doesn't matter when Taylors drug dealer bf shot first. It's clear cut and dry if your not an idiot. Unfortunate but clear cut.

The sad thing is how your racist party is treating the AG for simply following the law. Crazy how Democrats practice modern day slavery to any black person who doesn't do what they're told. You guys literally hate any black that is Republican or doesn't bow down to your plantation tactics

A look at the history of vigilantism in the United States.....

So, the DA repeated some police lies. SSDD.

So, the police also lied about Taylor dealing drugs. Cool.
