You know me enough to know hands off is not what I advocate. I was speaking in larger terms.

The generational part of effecting change is all that really matters. Old bigotries have to die off and let the young green shoots rise to take their places.

That's total ********. The Italians and the Irish were under much more pressure than the current brown immigrants into the west. People hated them, and it was even worse for the oriental folk. Still, those people found a way to thrive under adversity and fought through it like anyone with any pride would. Those people didn't have the safety nets that we have in place today. If you starved you starved, or you went to the boss of the gang and pledged fealty and everything else you had to give.


I see a network of Nigerians running taxi's and Mexicans doing hvac, painting, etc. They monopolize this stuff because they have the drive that draws motivated people into our hemisphere. Their families and friends flourish. They are the entrepreneurs going out there and making work because there always is work to be done.

In 30 years you'll see a new West that's dominated by brown and black folk just as the last 30 years was dominated by the old hated Italians, Jews, and Irish. TBH, I can't wait to hear the bitching, dying old white guys complaining about how colored people took over their country [because they were too lazy to brandish that Scootsy white pride keep teh people down bull ****].

If true, I imagine it has something to do with the fact that it's much harder to be poor/uneducated and come to the US from thousand of miles of way over an ocean than it is to hop a border connected to US. It wouldn't be that way if you dumped 30 million random Nigerians in the US tomorrow and waited 10 years to see the results. 40% of African immigrants in the US already have degrees before coming over.
 
If you want to claim Islam encourages beheading, there is a straight-forward way to do so: offer some verses in the Qu'ran, hadith, etc. that say beheading is a good thing. Perhaps they exist; I have not read any.

It depends how they were "dumped". If we put them all in ghettos with little to no economic opportunities then yeah. If they came and assimilated how they choose then they'd succeed in 2-3 generations just as most immigrants to here do. The Mexicans who sneak into America will do well for their families down the road. They take great risks to get into this country, and are well known to be some of our hardest workers when they get here. They want to succeed and will become the masters of their own destiny. I don't see how you can make this vaguely shrouded slight and claim that it is or will be otherwise.

Most those who are anti-Mexican immigration are racists who are afraid that brown guys down south will change their white culture. So they make all sorts of wild claims to scare us into shutting down the border, making employment impossible, claiming they're all on welfare (which is not true, it is by far the Anglo's who are welfare queens in America), criminals, etc.

OTOH, I think some of the claims about Mexicans are true.

I grew up in neighborhood that was almost completely white.
Then In my teenage years, Mexicans began to move in and whites began to move out. After about 7 years the neighborhood was mostly Mexicans.

When the neighborhood was mostly white there was no graffiti, or trash in the streets and the yards were well taken care of.
After the Mexicans came and the whites left, the neighborhood liked like

Stereotypes exist for a reason. I'm more interested in the environment behind what's creating the negative ones.


Many of the neighbor kids who will play with my kids are Mexican (the white kids are all LDS and at this point I get the feeling we are a bit shunned). The Mexican kids are alright. I make sure they all like me, and they don't steal my stuff. But I can tell you I have a racist bone that makes me a bit more paranoid of them in my house than Susie LDS Homemaker's kids. It's a total ********* -- the types exist no matter the race but that's my mentality and I cannot change it. At least I can recognize why the thoughts come in.


I knew white kids who did graffiti, and lived in the area of an all white meth head trailer park that we called the black hole. The only difference I see between the whites and the Mexicans is the whites are social outcasts from the society they want to belong to while the Mexicans are already socially confined and able to retain the support from the society they want to belong to. It's an identity issue.

At 75% I'd say those "racists" are pretty damn close to being right.

Immigrant households with children used welfare programs at consistently higher rates than natives, even before the current recession. In 2001, 50 percent of all immigrant households with children used at least one welfare program, compared to 32 percent for natives.

Households with children with the highest welfare use rates are those headed by immigrants from the Dominican Republic (82 percent), Mexico and Guatemala (75 percent), and Ecuador (70 percent). Those with the lowest use rates are from the United Kingdom (7 percent), India (19 percent), Canada (23 percent), and Korea (25 percent).

I grew up on 255 S. 1135 W. in SLC. It was already a Mexican neighborhood when I was in kindergarten in 1982. There was also a substantial Tongan population there.

I get along with Mexicans. Always have.

I trust them at least as much as your standard white person.

They like me too, after a little ******* sniffing, anyway.

For anyone who doesn't know, my wife is half Mexican.

Mexicans are proud. Generally. Come up to them like a superior Caucasian and be prepared for the gringo treatment. They aren't ready to accept a subservient role. They have machismo. Treat the men like men, engage in their humor... easiest friends you'll ever make. They like to laugh. They like to have fun. Better yet, they've got your back, so long as you have theirs.

I like Mexicans. I think the U.S could use a whole lot more of them. Good hard working folks.

P.S. you want to see someone who doesn't give a **** about lawn care. Stop by my house. I'm as white as they come.

I don't lump all Mexicans together.

I loved my Mexican neighbor lady. She was warm and friendly. I didn't care for the Mexican chick my brother dated. She was cold and reserved. I also worked for a nasty hispanic woman...don't know her nationality.
The Mexican guys I knew were also opposites, so I don't know how I'm supposed to stereotype them.

As a "half Mexican" does your wife speak Spanish?
Watching my neighbor lady speak both English and Spanish with her kids was kind of amazing.

Nope. She's kind of lame that way. I probably speak more Spanish than she does.
 
My neighbors insanely hot wife speaks spanish and english (he is mexican, she is white) with their kids as well. It is interesting to see. She is interesting to watch. Nice having a walkout basement with a 2nd level deck that overlooks the backyard.
