Is This Team Good?

These factors make me think that we have a little bit of margin for error if/when the team comes back down to earth. If we were just squeaking by teams or if the teams we beat were pretty sub-par, I'd be very little hesitant to say that we're legit. But what they are doing right now is pretty impressive.

This is my thinking. The defense has been so good that even if/when the shooting comes back down to earth we'll still be in games, not getting wiped out.

When healthy they're clearly better than LAC, NOP, Denver and Portland.

I don't think they'll catch OKC. Not counting the money yet; but I think we may be looking at either SAS or Minnesota in the first round.

Once again, the big if is if they can stay healthy. With Hood and Johnson gone and Burks giving us little to nothing - Jazz could be one injury away from major wing issues.

And of course if Rudy goes down again all bets are off.

When Exum gets back its going to be tough for him or someone else to get minutes.

Neto has played well, its hard to cut his minutes but I am guessing Exum will.

O'Neale looked great last night and you cant cut his minutes.

Ingles seems to be adapting to his bigger minutes and role. Earlier he was looking really worn out and struggling which I thought was due to too many minutes but maybe he was just adjusting still. But I still would not mind seeing him get some of his regular season minutes cut into by guys like Crowder and O'Neale. I would like to see him around 28 min a night until the playoffs.

Burks played okay last night but I am guessing when Exum gets back he will get a lot of DNPs unless its a blowout or guys are out for the game.

Point differential is a better predictor of future W/Ls than the current record. So based on that we are 6th best team in the west. I think that is where we probably end up. I am pretty sure NO and LAC miss the playoffs.

Except our point differential is pretty screwed up because of the horrendous December.

I think having Gobert out hurt it a bit but I still find it fairly accurate for where we will end up.

Had Gobert stayed healthy all of this year it would be better and we would have both a better point differential and a better record. But we lost a lot of games in that stretch and we probably cant catch up for that which is why I think its a decent indicator of where we will end up.

DL and QS have put together a team of very good defenders. There is not a single player I can think of who is average or below average which is really amazing. It comes natural to them individually, and as a group it's only going to get better.

Playoff games dont count, got it.
He's coming back from a significant injury. I think Candrew is keeping his expectations of Exum at zero for this year (like a lot of the rest of us), but would like to be proved wrong.

Also, just a general LoL at your response quoted above.

Yeah, I know you are in the doubters club.

Not better then Denver. Denver has Injuries To one of their best Players so You think A Zhealthy Jazz team better tThen A Healthy Nuggets Team? Utah Has ONE Legit Star. Mitchell. Gobert Pppleassse. 10years Ago he would of bern a star But he hAs No Offense amd Is a shotblocker on a league That Hoist up jumpers at A crazy rate.

Burks can give us enough. He simply isn't getting minutes. Exum will be adding some additional depth to the wings as well, plus crowder can play the wing.

Good effort.

I think we have enough wing depth to sustain injury.

Guys who can play the wing at 20+ minutes without killing us:

Donovan
Ingles
O’Neale
Crowder
Exum
Burks

I think we’re ok.

I figure in about 2 years we will be one of a handful (4 or 5) of teams with a legit shot at a title. Warriors should look a bit different by then but will probably still be the favorites. Lebron should be finally declining by then. We should be nearing our peak. Cant wait.
Nice to have jingles, mitchell, gobert, Royce oneal all signed up to that point. Good looking core and all should continue to improve through 2019 and then you add the fact that we should have lots of money to spend around that time as well and dudes gonna be chomping at the bit to play with mitchell/gobert and for coach snyder.
