The Jazz's plan (now a reality) to trade Deron.
Sloan disagrees with management yet the trade will push thru.
He probably resigned to protest the move.

Maybe?

I think Sloan resigned because the pillowfort was losing it's effective power and that the basketball was no longer looking like a football.

Read another one of my posts and slaughter it by starting the 1000th thread of the day. Let's really log this bitch down. Please.

It's possible, but it seems more likely that Greg felt Deron had a role in bringing on Jerry's retirement. And as time passed, he began to resent Deron for it and decided to pull the trigger. David Aldridge said he had talked to Greg after Jerry's retirement and there was no indication he wanted to lose or trade Deron and said he thought something recent precipitated this.

King said the deal was discussed weeks ago with Utah general manager Kevin O'Connor, but was brokered after the Knicks officially acquired Anthony from the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.

Sloan, reached Wednesday morning at his second home in Illinois, was aware of the trade but didn't want to say much.
"I have no reaction to what the Jazz are doing. We wish him well," Sloan said of Williams. "We wish the Jazz well. Good luck to Deron."
