Israel-Hamas War

What a master class on disinformation this conflict has been.
Disinformation? There are a disturbing number of videos. They just are being censored off American social media platforms, and thankfully so.

The event with the most video was from the music festival where Hamas captured it all on video. As the Atlantic put it:

One video shows a woman who appears to have been beaten, and who seems to be bleeding into her shorts, being forced out of a Jeep in Gaza. The other video shows a woman, later identified by her family as 22-year-old Shani Louk, stripped down to her underwear and lying face down in a truck, her legs twisted at unnatural angles. Hamas gunmen sit on her body, and bystanders spit on it.

Sadly, the hostage mentioned in the Atlantic piece above has been confirmed dead. She was beheaded and her skull was smashed. The identification was done via DNA on a piece of the smashed skull. Her body has not been found.

To say this is different is a massive understatement. Rockets, mortars, and car bombs is one thing but what Hamas did was unspeakable.

DO NOT LOOK FOR THIS FOOTAGE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT UNSEE IT.

Hamas militants entered a home, grabbed a baby from its mothers arms and put it screaming into an oven that they then turned to broil. The father was killed and they gang raped the mother as her baby burned alive in the oven. We know this isn't fake news because the Hamas militants recorded the whole thing on GoPro and just released the footage.

People on this forum who have defended Hamas, try to 'both sides' the actions, or claim that you have to view this in some sort of context can **** right off.

Have you been able to find confirmation for this story? I just briefly went through the replies to the tweet by Caroline Glick, and all the replies are saying it’s not true…

I would say unbelievable but when religion is involved every atrocity is completely believable. We are such a ****** species, wow.

Yes it sounds like he has seen the video. I went deliberately looking for the video and couldn't find it. Even on al Jazeera which has no problem posting this ****. All the dark video web sites don't have it. There has been so much disinformation spread through all this. Although I completely believe they would be capable of this, and it's not that out there to think it might have happened. And who knows what has really happened that just hasn't been reported. It's a giant ****-storm.

. Deliberately targeting women and children[/URL]

Are you sure? Like they see some hamas men with guns and are like “you are free to go, we are looking for women and children to kill”. Are they really bombing pre schools and womens shelters? Or they bombing indiscriminately and some of those places have women and children in them?

The article says things like “According to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces, the airstrike targeted and killed Ibrahim Biari, whom it described as one of the Hamas commanders responsible for the October 7 attack on Israel, which left than 1,400 people dead and hundreds taken hostage.

The IDF also said “numerous other Hamas terrorists” were hit in the strike, and claimed the Central Jabalya Battalion had taken control of civilian buildings.”

And

“An Israeli strike targeting a Hamas commander in the densely populated Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza”

Seems like they want to kill hamas leaders but those dudes like to kick it with civilians hoping they will provide cover as human shields. Sadly it doesn’t seem to be working very well.

Yeah, indiscriminately would have been a better word than deliberately. I don't think there's much denial that they are bombing women and children all over Gaza. Guess you gotta break some eggs to make an omelet and all that. The problem is that world sentiment is rapidly turning against their tactics and those people blame the USA as much as Israel. Factor in the rapidly expanding humanitarian crisis and this could turn out much worse for Israel than 1400 killed in a terrorist attack. I sure wouldn't want to live in Israel for the foreseeable future.

From the info above it sounds like they are deliberately taking out Hamas leaders knowing they are hiding amongst women and children. That isn't indiscriminate and it isn't deliberately targeted at women and children. It is accepting the loss of women and children so that they can kill their priority enemies.

This is a ****ed up war, and that's compared to the fact that all wars are ****ed up.

You’re right, I missed him saying “you can’t unsee it”.

This is so bad. Muslims being attacked to, of course….

"This is the scariest time to be Jewish since World War Two. We have had problems before, but things have never been this bad in my lifetime," said Anthony Adler, 62, speaking outside a synagogue where he had gone to pray in Golders Green, a London neighbourhood with a large Jewish community.“

Efraim Halevy, the former director of Mossad had some extremely harsh words for Netanyahu last night on PBS Newshour, saying he was "dreaming". He slammed Bibi's response to Hamas and the further problems it will cause and seemed very pessimistic about the future for Israel.

i just can't see how this gets any better but much, much worse. Hamas leader overnight promises they will keep repeating the attacks of Oct 7 over and over again until Israel is no more .. says everything they do is justified, reaffirms their goal is the complete removal and annihilation of Israel

I'm just going to be really real. Forreal real.

One side has to absolutely destroy the other for there to be peace. This is basic Machiavelli politics. One side has to be eliminated.

There is only one force capable of accomplishing this involved in this conflict. That force is the Israelis.

So, do we want hundreds of years of conflict, or do we want one bloody conflict that solves the issue once and for all?

I think this is a real question. I don't think the answer is easy or clear.
