For all of you guys dying for the season to start already [like me], here is an off-season entertaining post straight from the ME.
It is a translation I made especially to JazzFanz to a nice piece from the leading Israeli NBA website "Walla" (I apologize for the less than perfect English. I did my best) :
"
NBA Players to Have Breakout Year During 13-14
Enes Kanter
After two years under the shadow of Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap, Kanter and Favors finally get their opportunity. The two young and athletic bigs are very suited to play together - Favors is an athletic D specialist, Kanter is a classic center with a polished game in the paint.
While Favors was the main sub for the bigs last season and has left some impression, Kanter only played few MPG had difficulty to show what he is capable of. In fact, since the 21 y/old Turk wasn't allowed to play college basketball, he didn't play significant minutes anywhere so far. Kanter is supposed to be a scoring machine, a player with great finishing ability near the basket and an offensive rebounds specialist.
He is supposed to play exactly in the Al Jefferson spot on the left post. In addition, he can start moves from the high post facing the basket (The Tim Duncan position). He can get to the basket with one dribble and has a nice spot up jump shot.
The mid-range shot will allow Tyron Corbin to use him in the Pick'N'Roll both inside and outside. Defense is his less strong side, but Jefferson was even worse. Since Utah is in the "We build here" mode and there are no real worthy bigs on the bench (The French "electricity pole" Rudy Gobert will need to prove he belong to the NBA) Kanter will get his opportunity throughout the season even if the opening will be hesitant. "
Also made the list:
Jonas Valanciunas
Terrence Jones
P. J. Tucker
& James Anderson
