What's new

It's Kanter

i hope we have to offer both, kanter and favors, like at least 20 mins per game. less would be strange for both guys picked as the third overall pick. we have to improve our young players and get them some time to play. we have to trade millsap and get a starting caliber wing player, i really don't like the idea of starting millsap as a small forward. so let favors and jefferson start, give jefferson his 33 minutes, favors deserves his 28 minutes, kanter like 23 minutes and okur like 12 minutes if he's healthy. kanter now needs some time to play due to the fact that he had to sit the whole year.

do we have a chance to trade for danny granger? he's exactly what we need. trade millsap, bell and a future first round pick for granger.

our starting five would look like this:

harris 33 min - watson 10 min - burks 5 min
hayward 25 min - burks 11 min - miles 12 min
granger 34 min - miles 8 min - evans 6 min
favors 29 min - kanter 14 min - okur 5 min
jefferson 34 min - kanter 8 min - okur 6 min

that's a 10 player rotation. we could add a veteran player who plays the guard position for the minimum. i'd like this kind of a 10 - 11 player rotation and i think we would fight for the 7th, 8th spot in the conference. in three or four years, we might become a top 5 team in the west with building around a core of kanter, favors and hayward/burks. the future looks bright.

Im not stuck on who is 4, who is 5. I would prefer a better duo. That would be for suire, playing Favors alongside Kanter (making not steal mins from eachother so they will build a better relation_)
and Millsap with Big Al. And honestly i am ok to keep Big Al for a while, but i strictly want him to be traded at some point. Maybe when Memo is healthy again.

For sure Favors and Kanter should start together latest next year. But if you ask me, I think Favors is more of a C than PF while vice versa for Kanter

Glad to see BabyPeterzz and you are on board with Favors at center and Kanter at power forward, as I have been saying even before the draft.

This thread has taken a definite turn for the worse.

Now on topic. Clearly both guys can play the PF and C. Their measurements are pretty similar.

Thanks.

You can see why many were actually a little higher on Jonas V. than Kanter (liked the Kanter pick). Scored 23 and had 11 rebounds against U19 team USA team. Patric Young from Florida was matched up against him much of the game. Young only had 6 points. U19 world tournament starts tomorrow.

Explain the logic there. Kanter scored more points and more rebounds against Patric Young, Sullinger, Terrence Jones, etc. Not a homer statement, just not following the logic. Does it make who's better debatable? Sure, I suppose, but I never felt it was undebatable in the first place.

Did I say that i thought Jonas V is the better player in my post? No. But if you look past your KY homerism i think you could see why some think Jonas V might end up being the best player.
