Jack Reacher

So im an avid reader of the Jack Reacher series of books written by Lee Child. I think there are about 20-25 of them and I have read all of them except maybe 1 or 2. Well Amazon is doing to a TV series based on the books! The first season drops in february of 2022 and is based on book one Killing Floor. (great book)
I can't wait. I was excited when I heard that they were making movies based on the book series but then found out that Tom Cruise was playing Reacher. Jack Reacher is about 6 foot 5 inches and about 250lbs with very light brown hair and blue eyes. Tom Cruise is like 5 foot 6 and 160 pounds with black hair and very dark eyes. Such horrible casting. The dude starring in the TV series looks the part mostly so thats cool.

Anyways, Im excited for this.

I read the first three of this series. Loved the first, liked the second, only slightly liked the third, and gave up on the series. I'd be interested in the series, though.

I liked Cruise's Reacher movies.

Looks ok. Reacher seems like it will do better as tv rather than movies.

Tom Cruise was not a good Jack Reacher. Probably better than Warwick Davis.

Its a guy who probably could do that stuff but he is way too practical and boring to do that stuff. He prefers headbutts, kick in the groin, elbows to the throat….. whatever eliminates the threat most efficiently. He is a former military policeman who is very adept in all manner of weapons and is a great fighter but he isnt particularly flashy about it.
He is a fantastic character in the books (hence there even being 25 best selling books all about him)

I liked Nobody because it never took itself seriously, which made it great and hilarious at the same time. And Odenkirk is a much better every-man kind of character. I thought Nobody was far better than John Wick.

Yeah he really sold that role. He walked that line between highly-skilled and deadly assassin and dude that is just plain ready to retire so he still gets his *** kicked and has to work hard for his wins. Made it really enjoyable. And he is just a likeable actor.
