Jackpotting Around Podcast: Episode 14 - 2024 NBA Mock Draft 1.0

I mean I certainly didn't believe he was a legit prospect two years ago, but I did have him ranked 61st on my big board last year.

I just don't appreciate people misrepresenting reality.

Do you appreciate when posters say things "admittedly I wasn't really hyping him up" and post what actually occured without being prompted to like I did though?

You are acting like I misrepresented reality and bounced. When I actually corrected myself and checked myself on my own accord.

Now to be clear… I still think there is a chance Edey is a super Boban (he actually had a run as a decent backup center for a while). Like Edey might cap out as a 20 minute a night center that causes problems for the opponents sometimes that are hard to solve so he gets a few more minutes. Some nights it might not work and he gets backup minutes. I think there are reasons to believe in him more and that he might break the nba game more than the nba game breaks him.

I’ve mentioned it before but one of the things that changed my outlook is the screens he sets. Big physical guy setting screens and rolling will cause issues and will have a lot of gravity. I’m less concerned about him getting cooked on the perimeter because he will have defensive value being huge and taking up space by the rim.

If he shoots it then it’s slightly helpful but I don’t expect him to go full brook lopez.

I don’t remember what this was about sorry sober

He won’t listen to me I keep telling him to buy a mic lol

Used my camera mic last time and had volume issues... used airpods this time. Guess I'll get a mic at some point. I ain't trying to be some professional here.
WTH does he need to buy a mic for he sounded fine!! I swear these wiper snappers and their high tech crap.
Video pod. We need to see those beautiful faces.
No damn thank you. Who wants to see all talks ugly mugs?

enjoyable episode dudes. As someone who knows nothing about college basketball very informative, esp in the light of our picks coming up. From all that info am i right in assuming there's zero chance for real franchise altering picks in this draft ?

even Sarr at no.1 i saw him in person here a few games and i just don't see any kind of real star material.

Every draft has had 3 all stars since 2000ish. Some aren’t like great perennial all stars though. This draft likely has one or two somewhere but they aren’t obvious. This could be the draft that bucks the trend but I think there are some high quality prospects out there.

I mean you never know what a draft will yield. 2013 was supposed to be all time bad, it ended up being stronger than we thought. The 14 draft was supposed to be all time great and was just ok, wasn’t bad but not great. The more I study this draft the more I think there are some real hidden gems found all over the draft
