Meh...sometimes that leads to matador defense and/or easy free throws for the other team. Jae's "toughness" or whatever you want to call it went both ways too. Jae's defensive activity was as up and down as his shooting. The ability to be "tough" and fake fight doesn't necessarily overlap with the toughness that helps you win games. Royce was taking cheap shots at Brunson....but I would rather him show the mental toughness to stay engaged on defense. Jae was always there for scuffles, but was often a space cadet when it came to actual basketball. I don't think he really gumed up the game for opponents, I think he made it easier for them to execute their offense.
