Jae Crowder Should be the Default Starter at PF

Basically Jae can do whatever he wants.

Either people are afraid of him or would feel bad about trading him.

Why dont we talk about trading him?

I think scoring more points than the other team is more important... in fact I think it’s maybe the most important thing in basketball... the starters with Jae are much better at that than the starters with Favs.

Since the beginning of November, that's not true. Favors did have an awful October.

This made me think of what may possibly be management's motto heading into January, especially with all the strength of schedule talk.

#1 - he can play SF and PF, defends well and can hit the occasional 3
#2 - he is on a bargain contract that goes through next season
#3 - he loves being here in Utah
#4 - I don't think he is a big trade asset

Put that together, and you realize that it doesn't make much sense to trade him. Same will be said for Korver until he expires.

I noticed you said nothing about helping us win.

If you were into counting crows in junior high and high school and if you play this in DLs voice... it is the funniest thing on the internet today... congrats.

We are 4-2 when Jae starts... he has a positive +|- in every game. He plays better too.

Look I’m not saying he’s amazing but this is three years of playing a stretchy 4 and it having a big impact on the team. If we had a high quality stretch four or playmaking four it’d be even better.

These and old school Weezer... smashing pumpkins... the good old days for me.
Saw Smashing Pumpkins a couple months back at Vivint. WTH happened to Weezer? Nothing good since the 90s. I mean, the Toto cover is alright, but that's not Weezer.

Idk... last album I got into was the red album.

Jae isn’t amazing but he’s a solid option that does provide some good locker room stuff and some toughness. He’s not untouchable but I don’t think he has a ton of trade value. Getting extra firsts has become really hard... a team like Houston might pony up a first if you also took Knights salary though.

I disagree, The White Album is really good. If you like the 90's stuff you should love that record.

Oh, I totally agree Weezer post-90's suck, but The White Album is a big exception. It's on par with Pinkerton and The Blue Album.
Doubtful, but I'll give it a listen. I was a huge Weezer fan back when they first released the blue album. Pinkerton too. After that, I tried to like Green and Maladroit, but after that, ugh.

I honestly think Favors guards perimeter players better than Crowder.
Favs is glacially slow around the perimeter.

Im just gonna say what the rest of you are afraid to say...

Jae isnt that good, but we all know we are stuck with him because he loves UTAH, and the organization is just happy to have somebody that wants to be here. So... let him just keep keep jacking shots even though he isnt a shooter?? Are the coaches afraid of Jae as well?
Jae isn't anything special by any means. He's just average at doing the things a 4 next to Gobert needs to do, which is much better than Favs is at doing the things a 4 next to Gobert needs to do. Favs isn't bad, he just isn't as good as Gobert and is really poor playing next to him.

Jae can also carry usage, which is something the starting lineup desperately needs. Gobert, Ingles, and Favors all cannot carry usage, which leads to Donovan having to carry too much and Rubio having to carry way, way too much. Ricky would be much better back in his Minnesota role with like 16 usage and 9 assists/game instead of 23 usage and 6 assists per game.
