I just don't understand why all of the crap teams are STILL in the East. It has always been 10 times harder to build in the West, because they have been the stronger conference for at least 4 decades now.
It’s befuddling.
 
I really think you have to look at tanking and the salary cap in the same discussion. If losing franchises in small markets can't draft their way to success and can't spend their way to success then what is the point? If the bigger wealthier teams can spend and draft their way to success it will ordain the power of big market teams permanently.

The current luxury tax penalties are prohibitive for both small and big market teams. That probably will keep things in check for the most part.
 
Keyonte has reverted back to forcing things, and his efficiency is dropping accordingly. He had a nice groove going when there were other good players on the floor with him.

What were Golden State spending a few years back? 220 million plus tax? Phoenix are spending 220mil this year to be that bad. Tax only works when owners are motivated by making money I'm not sure that is the sole focus of some owners.

Something like that. Phoenix is all-in with Kevin Durant, so they agreed to make that investment.
