Jared Butler WTF?

Andy Larsen is reporting there are contract issues. Since he’s a second rounder he doesn’t get paid much and contracts aren’t as set in stone. He could sign a one year deal or a two year deal. Obviously he’d prefer to o my get paid second round money for one year, so why would he sign a two year deal? But if he doesn’t sign a two year deal, the Jazz have no rights to him and he could get picked up by any team next year. Quite the conundrum.

Andy says the solution is a two year deal with some sort of secret handshake deal for a big pay day at some point.

What? Where is his leverage for this? It should be a for year Hinkie special with him being able to hit RFA after his 3rd year.

I don't know about Butler's heart but thanks for taking care of mine with this thread's title. Thought something very serious is going on.

Shame. Was really looking forward to seeing Butler play. Guess we’ll have to settle for watching Doke destroy everyone.

Who cares about Summer league? I understand fans wanting to see him but if he is working out under the watchful eyes of the trainers and coaches who cares. If he can play then we will see him in exhibition games.

The only good thing about Butler not playing is Jazz nation has to wait to start criticizing and claiming him as a bust. A Jazz nation tradition has been squashed. haha
I can hear it now... I never wanted to draft him after he goes 2-8 from the field. Butler will be fine. He is projected as 2nd stringer at the best for the near future. Remember he was the 40th pick and not the 4th pick. Hopefully, this time will allow people to lower their expectations and let the kid adjust to the NBA.

On the real, when you draft a guy at 40 who was slated at around 20 you sign him for as many seasons as possible. He'll be getting 2nd round money and then he's a RFA. We better not be signing him for anything less than three seasons.
