What's new

Jared Sullinger has grown to 6'10?

Sullinger is a very good college player. Not dominant, but very good. I think he lacks the athleticism to compensate for his lack of size on this level. In the next draft, I'd put him in the 12 - 14 range.

Watched Sullinger alot last year and saw him in person once. Reminds me alot of Kevin Love - not as the outlet passer but as a below-the-rim player with skill who's a bull down on the block and is a terrific rebounder. He reads rebounds well and - like a Love or Boozer - uses his strength to get position and has great hands. He has this jump hook where he shields with his left-shoulder and keeps both hands on the ball until it's above his head - unless you're a 7-footer it's almost impossible to block. In warmups he even hit the college 3 consistently. Didn't do it in games, but then again for the most part all we saw of Kanter's jumper was shooting w/no defense as well.

If he's 6-8/6-9, I think he's in the 6-12 range next year. If he's 6-10? Wow he's top-5 for sure.

I'm always on board with the best player available theory, but even if Sully dropped to Utah (Jazz are not likely to have Top 7 pick next year unless it's their own), could Utah really justify drafting a player pretty comparable to Jefferson while also having Favors, Millsap and Kanter on board? Obviously, this is assuming Utah holds onto all of those players between now and next draft, but I'm starting to believe that they will.

If the Jazz are picking @ 8 with GS's pick next year and Sully is there, I still think you take the best PG or outside shooter on the board and sell the public on the lie that said player was rated higher than Sully on their draft board.

I watched every game of Thad's team last year and Sully was a beast. He rebounded so well because he used the Boozer shove effectively. The refs let him get away with a lot. He did really well passing out of double teams, he is unselfish, and is a great team player.
How you can not call him dominant when he averaged 17 and 10 as a freshman in one of the hardest conferences. He is a dominant college player but his NBA game will be like a better Big Baby. I think he will probably be drafted in the 7-11 range.

That is crazy talk. Unless they botched the measurements or Sully was wearing Cole Aldrich type platformers, he will have more than enough size to play PF int he NBA. Half these freshmen will struggle just like Barnes as they make the transition.

Currently #3 in draft express 12' mock draft. Can't imagine he'll fall past the top 5. Should be even more dominant next season.

I'm not convinced he has the skills necessary to play PF at the elite NBA level.

Seriously. I just don't see the speed, jumping, ball-handling, etc. NOW, if he was 6'10, then yes. 6'8 and change .. late lottery.

I'm not high on Sullinger at all, but you are up in the night. Even if he is 6' 8", you pay a premium for a big that plays with skill and savvy like he's already shown. This isn't Luke Harangody.

I'm not adamant, but I do support/stand by my opinion. We'll see how he does, I'm not pulling against the kid.
