Well, if you argue Collins was always gay, despite his long-term straight relationship with his GF, then I guess you also have to say Anne Heche was always straight, despite her long-term lesbian relationship. So both of those people didn't change their orientation, they were just in long-term denial for one reason or the other.

Not possible. The LGBT community cannot have a bisexual person as their hero, even though there is a "B" in the acronym. Heche was absolutely HATED for "coming out" as straight. You can definitely be gay and live in denial due to fear/discrimination, but you cannot be straight and have been leading a gay lifestyle.

A lesbian girl I knew in the Navy said that L girls hated B girls. Couldn't get a girl-girl date with an L if you were B.
