Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Feel disappointed that it feels more than likely now that the 7-8 seed is the destiny...
However, that Clippers game coming up could become like a play-in for the playoffs.. HUGE..

I bought tickets for this game forever ago when we seemed lotto bound because there's a giveaway that night of cheap headphones. Tickets on sixth row in upper bowl were like 24 bucks. The price has gone up considerably since then.

Against the Jazz, Kings-Mavs-Spurs-Warriors-Celtics combined to shoot 56-106 from 3, 52%
Jazz shot 56-176 from 3 in those 5+Atlanta , 31%

70!! more attempts to make the same number of 3s

I don't know if I can handle the daily ups and downs coming from this playoff race. Yesterday morning I felt like hugging strangers and buying groceries for the guy behind me in line. Today I feel like I could kick an otter or if I was a teacher throw an impossible pop quiz on my students.

Maybe I need to step back from all this Jazz.

My hope is that the Jazz are going through one of their sputtering phases that they've done this year and over the next few games will figure it out and go on another dominant run that coincides conveniently with the playoffs.

Makes me nervous because I was also at the infamous Clippers game two years ago.

With all due respect imma need u to stay away from the team in big games... TIA

Ideally, the 6 seed might be the prime seed really. I'd rather play POR than OKC, GSW, or HOU.

I'd prefer the 4 and then the 6 in that order. POR/GSW is more attractive than OKC/HOU (without home court in the 1st) imo

Might as well see it through! Spend a few minutes before a game thinking through how you'll handle a loss. (There are more games to come; we aren't eliminated until we're eliminated; we still control our own destiny; it'll feel all the more amazing when we make the playoffs, etc.) Positive mental exercises. It's cheesy but it helps a bit. Also, have something in the hopper you can turn to in case a game goes south. A new album from a band you like. A show you've been waiting to see. Etc. Fan psychology.

The first game of the year, versus the Nuggets, sort of exemplifies the season as a whole. We started off ok, then it was really bad, then we came back in a big way and won. (Only difference is it was Burks off the bench who saved that game.) I was there. I was also there when we beat the Bulls in triple overtime in days of yore. I've seen hard losses, I've seen amazing wins. I'll be wearing the lucky socks, so all will be well.

I also bought tickets when SeatGeek was doing that $30 off all-star promo thing. I think I paid $1.

Mentally preparing to lose... thats new. Ive never tried but not sure I can get onboard. Sports are all about the lows and the highs after all, kinda sounds like the sporting equivalent of xanax.

It's not all I do. I hope for the win, and more recently I even naturally expect a win. But expecting the win leads to a feeling of entitlement that makes a loss feel even worse for me. I don't want my fandom to overly negatively impact playing with my kids or spending time with my wife. So while I'm up for a game I also take a minute to go through the scenarios. "Ok, if we do lose tonight, we'll be at 33 losses, we'll still be X games ahead of ____ and X wins away from ____. There's still time." Then, if things are looking dour, I go back to that thought of "well, this won't eliminate us," or "this makes the upcoming Wolves game even more interesting." I still get pretty bummed out after a loss, like last night, but I don't snap at my kids or act cold at home just because of sports.

Fair call. Tbh the second I have a thought or read a comment along the lines of expecting to win I have alarm bells go off in my head and then I just hold on. Feels like 98% the time it results in a L.

The only counter measure I found was to bet against the result I wanted. ie live bet when Jazz were up by 10, Celtics would have paid 10/1.

I'm not really in the mood to follow any games after last night's loss. I think I'll take a couple of days off and check out the situation over the weekend.

How can you ignore the Thunder/Spurs game tonight? It's yuuge.

I’ve only seen wins this year... I live near Sacramento though. I will go to every game for good luck if you guys want to set up a gofundme
