i dont think anyone has being saying it. Even the Celtics werent expecting to contend this season...and that was with a healthy Hayward. How long are we gonna be saying that Boston will rule the EC soon though? I agree their roster is insane on paper, but health is important and the more years they lose to injuries the sooner the payday comes for all those young players.

Tatum and Brown have developed much faster than anticipated. Morris was a great addition and Rozier is a very competent rotation player.
What i think is exciting, and good for thd league, is there will be at least 3 teams that could emerhe from the East next year: Boston, Philly and Toronto. And from the West: Houston and GS.
And one or two other teams depending on the decisions by Lebron, George and where Kwahi ends up. Plus darkhorses like Utah, Minnesota and Milwaukee who just need a key acquisition and health to move up a notch. Even the Pelicans, if Cousins returns at close to 100%.
The East still has a significant lack of big names to compete with for all-star spots.Gonna be a couple cap casualties... also I remember when Gordon signed thinking why join a hobbled IT and old Horford if you want to win a title. Kyrie is not an iron man and now Brown and Tatum are more established. Horford could have a steep decline (might be okay not overly reliant on vertical athleticism) if he loses a step his effectiveness on D could go down the tube.
Really think if Hayward had a do-over he might stay here. If philly gets a FA this year (PG or LBJ) I think they have a better setup than Boston.
I think Kyrie can extend his contract this offseason... wonder if they can’t agree if Kyrie gets the IT treatment.
Tough question. Of the six, i know i dont give enough respect to Toronto. Yet there they are, ready to clinch the top seed in the East. Boston had the best record, without Hayward, before injuries finally caught up to them. Stevens is a helluva coach and they've had the best defense. But Philly with Simmons, Embiid and Lebron? Damn!Jack
just curious, Where do you think those top three teams in the East would be in the West? 3 to 6? Higher? Lower?

No. But they’re close to it. Still need one more win or a loss by Denver I think. Freaking sucky Bucks.Do the Jazz clinch a playoff spot if they win tonight?
Every time we start getting overly excited and hyped about moving further up we suffer an excruciating loss. Ya'll are jinxing us here
just checked, the clips have a top 7 offense. They can score the ball, I think this game comes down to our defensive prowess. Handle it!!!!!!!!!!
Tobias Harris is so underrated. I wanted him way back when and would be elated to have him now. He is better than the current version of Blake Griffin Clips killed it in that trade.
I've always liked Harris too! I'd rather have him than Jabari Parker.
Here's a thread about Harris from years ago. To prove that both of us have always liked him.
