Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

we almost have 20 turnovers. Also, we have made a ton of sloppy passes... Rudy is beasting tonight and Favors has played alright. Hopefully, we finish strong.

We're not playing great. But it's a good game. We've looked a lot worse last 3. We look closer to streak jazz tonight, imo.

Yeah, but Minnesota was also playing a schedule loss without Butler, then had Towns tossed in the 2nd quarter. They were about as disadvantaged as a team could get. Felt like the Jazz could have played a lot cleaner (which is what has been the problem since the break, so I dont feel like they made much of an improvement in this game).

Wiggins and Teague had well above season-average games, and the Wolves hit 51% of their shots with 53% on threes (compared to our 31%). Aside from the terrible TOs, specially the sloppy passes in the first half, Jazz played well. Gobert had a monster game. Mitchell was great. It was a good enough performance. The last three games Jazz looked lethargic and semi-interested.

Jazz lose games like this on the regular in years past. Mitchell in the last 5 minutes is a pretty good freaking luxury. I kinda felt like with Haywood in those situations that there was a 33% chance he would make the shot, 33% chance he would miss the shot, and a 33% chance he would just dribble off of his foot. and that was as a six and seven year vet.

Just like that, the Wolves dropped from 3rd to 6th. 38-28 could turn out to be 38-34. This is what's coming for them:

vs Boston
vs GS
@ Washington
@San Antonio
@Houston
vs Clippers

There were several players who didn't perform well, Rubio wasn't one of them. He was +23 for a reason.

Hes played awful all year minus a 3 week stretch were he player at an all star level.
He was amazing during the streak. Probably our best player. And he was ok at the beginning of the year.
But ya, the rest of the time he has been crap. Maybe our worst player.

Heck, hopefully worst case is they go 2-4 and we go 4-2 during that stretch. That’ll be a two game gain.

We’d then be just two games back of them. I like our chances to gain even more though. We need to win the next couple to gain some mo’ like Cy has been saying.

Jazz have just been terrible on wide-open looks. eFG% of 38% (last) on wide-open shots since the break. Their season average is 57.2% eFG so you'd imagine they'd regress to the mean.

Also been average shooting the ball in the first-half and horrendous in the second-half, 3P% of 17.6% (obviously last) in the second-half.

I never really thought about the possibility of Minnesota dropping out of the playoffs before last night. But with Butler out, the disappointing defense they've played all year, and now dropping to 6th with 28 losses... they might be in trouble. With all of the technical fouls and ejections last night they came across as a team in desperation. They might crack under the pressure.

Jazz just 2 games out of 8th, and 4 games out of 3rd. Crazy.

I think we'll be only 1 game out of 8th after tonight. I expect the Jazz to beat Sacramento at home and I think the Nuggets will lose in Cleveland on the second night of a back to back on the road. The Nuggets aren't a good road team. The Thunder play the Blazers tonight too so one of those teams will be losing which is nice. The Jazz just need to take care of their business tonight.

who's running that Western Conference Prediction contest? I haven't seen an update in a while....
