It looks like it will help us. They play the spurs next week, then the jazz on the 25th. They can still beat the spurs with how bad they are right now, and it helps the jazz with Klay out.And now Klay has a broken thumb. Unfreakin' real. He'll be out just long enough for the Dubs to lose some games that we need them to win vs our stiffest competition and yet come back in time to play against us in the penultimate game of the season.
I'd add a few qualifiers to this:Orlando and Kings both won last night against playoff teams... goes to show you not to take beating the tanking teams for granted -- can't afford a let down at all in these next few games
I'd add a few qualifiers to this:
1. They beat EC playoff teams.
2. I ultimately think them winning is a good thing. Kind of like a whale surfacing for air and getting a good breath to sustain itself before it plunges back down into the abyss. When we roll in to a place like Memphis and they're on a 15-game losing streak, that stuff scares me.
3. Now that they've put up some wins, the coach (if they're on board) will be more pressured to ensure they aren't picking up more Ws.
Let the tankers win as many games as possible against teams that aren't the Jazz.
Has something like this ever happened in the history of the league?
I remember GS winning a ton of games and getting into the 8th seed and knocking off the Mavericks.

That Mavs team matched up horribly against the "we believe" Warriors. Everyone knew it, and it had been evident throughout the season. It would be like the Jazz beating the Warriors soundly the next two games then getting them in the first round.
Then Cuban accused Nelson of having insider knowledge.Their coach also pooped the bed. He decided to play the Warrior's game and go small instead of doing what the Jazz did in the next round which was playing their game and punishing their weaknesses.
You don't beat inferior opponents by trying to do what they are best at.

They won't play another team in the race till Oklahoma on April 3rd and pelicans on the 7th. Then the jazz is the last game of the season for them. I don't think they are going to have a shot at first, so probably will be resting for the playoffs. It just made 2 of the hardest games left on the schedule much more winnable. I think it's great news.

This is a great point!I think Golden State is going to want to stay in front of Toronto. Toronto is 9-7 against the WC playoff teams and San Antonio with two games to go against the Clippers and Thunder -- that also includes two wins against Houston. They're also a good home team. Toronto lost both games to GS, but they were close -- 2 points at home and 5 points on the road.

That's right! Then they got stomped by us in round two. That was a wacky match-up.
Remember how hard everyone tanked for that pick? He was consensus #1 in a draft that was being touted as the strongest in years. Watching this stuff unfold has cured me forever of the desire to tank. There are better ways to build a team.More hilarity about Wiggins (can't believe the stupids who would trade for him), is that he's complaining about being a third option. You know, the guy who takes more shots than anyone else on the team, on top of being really bad.
