Jazz 2017/18 Playoff Bus! All Aboard!

Kevin Durant is going to be out at least 2 weeks with a rib injury. Klay is out with a fractured thumb. Steph is out at least another week with an ankle sprain. These games we have against Golden State are looking winnable, both of them.

Hep, just saw the news, and I don't feel sorry for them or their fans. Lol

I dont care if it is real or a farce if it helps the jazz.

In other news the contempt for the league and the fans shown by the "stars" and prominent coaches is disgusting

Golden State players and coach Steve Kerr have already stated that they're going to be extra cautious regarding injuries to make sure everyone's healthy heading into the playoffs.
Curry and Thompson have been ruled out for the next 3 games, which means they could be back for...you guessed it...the home game against Utah. Fortunately, Durant's time table is two weeks. And this isn't contempt by the stars. These aren't fake injuries; they're legit.

But you can pretty much bet none of the stars for GS will make the trip to SLC on 4/10. It's their last game and they'll want to rest their players. Only way they'd show up is if Silver made GS play their starters. And if he did, their starters would only play token minutes.

GS has a 9 game lead over Portland and is 3 back of Houston. They're now pretty much locked in to the #2 seed even if everyone were healthy.

Here are the games GS has remaining against WC playoff contenders:
19-Mar @SA
25-Mar UTA
3-Apr @OKC
7-Apr NO
10-Apr @UTA

Utah has the most to gain (or lose) from the health of the W's. The 3/25 game is now very winnable. Even if Curry and Thompson return, they're not going to be 100%. Have to take advantage and win both games.

Too bad they will be winnable for other teams in the hunt as well.

That's not the real problem. GSW has only two games left against teams in front of Utah - NOP and OKC. And The Jazz will catch NOP regardless .

The real problem is now Houston might take their foot off the gas - they have six games left against teams in front of Utah.

All that matters is the jazz keep winning, and what looked like the 2 hardest games left now could be very winnable. That means the only really tough games are Boston, and Portland. Portland's the last game of the season for both teams and Portland could be resting if they have 3rd locked up. Jazz could go 11-2 the rest of the way and get 50 wins.

Still 11 days to go before our Boston game, so perhaps some players return, but right now they're not very terrifying. Quite a few guys out.

Houston wants to also be in front of Toronto who they've lost to both times they've played. Toronto is three back in the loss column right now. That potentially impacts at least the last couple games which are the Lakers and Kings. Their third fo last game is against OKC.

Golden State looks like they're going to lose at San Antonio on Monday. It appears as if San Antonio is going to be the team that emerges between them, Denver and the Clippers. San Antonio has a rough schedule, but they have more of those tough games at home than the other two.

Well your other choices are HOU, GSW, POR

If you don't have a top seed your first round match up is going to be tough

I'd prefer playing Portland in a 3/6. Gobert will neutralize Nurkic and basically turn The Blazers into a jump shooting team. Unless CJ and Lillard light it up 30+ each every game Jazz should roll even without home court.

I'd also rather play any other 4/5 scenario - Minnesota, NOP, SAS....

Tonight:
Kings @ Jazz
Nuggets @ Grizzlies
Wolves @ Spurs (win-win)
Rockets @ Pelicans

I got Harden on my fantasy team, and my fantasy playoff opponent has AD, so I'm hoping for a huge Harden night. I think it's possible we get some Grizzlies help too. At some point that streak will have to end, and Nuggets are terrible on the road.

Yeah, I’d called it earlier. I think their streak ends tonight with a win over Denver.
