What's new

Jazz (31-25) vs Celtics (29-26) @EnergySolutionsArena 2/25/13 @7 PM (MT)

yet i have seen this skill for 3 years now,
if you notice he sometimes does this on rbeounding as well :) most obvious victim is PIMPSLAP

I noticed the rebounding on that play. If the guy had missed Al was effectively blocking out two of his teamates so Al could get the rebound.

exactly and in certain situation al blokcing out his teammates puts him in the perfect position to rebound yet he does not rebound. he only gets rebounds that are not too much effort.

Can you imagine what Sloan would have to say to Al?

Years ago I went to one of the preseason scrimage at the Delta Center. The assistant coaches were playing head coach and Jerry sat a few rows behind the scorers table, seemingly not paying attention. In the middle of the third period, while the play is happening Jerry storms out onto the court, stamps his foot and starts yelling. "Thats not the way we play, and you need to practise the way we play, now do it right. These people did not come here to watch you show off, now run the plays the right way."

The entire areana was silent.

I'm not a big proponent of fear based leadership, but I think the Jazz could use a little bit of tough love.

Why not invite Jerry to come 'talk' to your team.

1.2 seconds left and you need a 3. Who do you want on the floor? Big Al, of course. Nice Ty, real nice. I wonder if the Celts knew who our 2 options were?

That's along the lines of what I was thinking when everyone came out onto the floor for the last play.

There is a line between repsect and fear. You need to be hard enough that they respect you but not hard enough that they fear you. I do not see either of those towards Ty.

So we are 0-2 after the trade deadline. Two tough losses that really have placed a negative cloud over Jazz nation.

Our hopes of going on a playoff run seem to be moot. We can't even beat and tired old Celtics team at home on the back end of a B2B.

I read the tea leaves as Foye is finally coming back down to earth after a stellar half a season. Without Mo Williams teams can focus on shutting down Millsap and Jefferson in the clutch. So Hayward and Burks have to try to close out the game. They couldn't do it tonight. Hopefully Hayward and Burks learned some stuff from this game.

Oh and Pierce was awesome.

The Clipper game was us running into a buzzsaw. If Odom shoots like that consistently then Clippers will be in the Finals.

The thing that hurts....

Is that throughout this season the first and third quarters have become unbearable. Like literally, does anyone ENJOY watching the starters play?

The only time the Jazz become watchable is when their bench plays.

Has that ever been the case for this franchise? For any franchise? Ever?

Says a lot, I think.

And why so many are still pissed that we did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING over the summer or before the trade deadline to fix it.

Really? Did you not watch Boozer during his Jazz stint? Sloan would say nothing and continue to play him also.

This

I heard sidney lowe on the radio today and he was asked what has been upsetting so far this year and he said the fact that they always get off to slow starts in the 1st quarter (then he said that they have kind of started to correct that issue) and that the 3rd quarters are becoming a problem as well.

Even the coaches see it apparently...... except for maybe tyrone "its only one game" corbin.

It's terrible. It's the first team I think I've ever seen when I cringe when the starting lineup comes in. And the head coach is too spineless or clueless to see it.

post all star break we are 1-2
post trade deadline we are 0-2

Anybody running the psychology of players who might have been trying harder before the deadline, either in fear of being dealt out, or hoping to be?

If this is happening right now, can't we hope there will be some rebound in a short while, and maybe running up to the playoffs, where our guys are again on their game?
