What's new

Jazz acquire NAW and Juancho Hernangomez for Ingles, Hughes, and two 2nd round picks.

My prediction... we send JC and Juancho to OKC with a first, amend our protections on the other pick, and get back Williams. Complete duck the tax so Ryan can go golfing with Tony Finau a little more.

I’m still wondering if Justise would have been better than NAW…and also if we could have gotten Hart some how. Oh well, the ******** version of JC with some potential it is.

I drafted NAW late in my fantasy draft thinking he was a steal and held onto him thinking he'd work through his horrible shooting woes. I've dropped him twice now as his FG% and 3PT FG% tanks those categories for me. Will a change of scenery fix things? I dont know I definitely still have my doubts .

It kinda feels like they went after Hart and this is what they ended up with.

But then they wouldn’t be Luxury Tax Savings World Champs.

34% would be barely acceptable. But he hit it for two seasons. I see him a 36% shooter and peaking. He played in the Pels chaos system. He may do better here.

I'll miss Ingles, equally off court as on court. I guess I just get his personality, probably closest to my own of any recent players that I can think of from what little information we all have to go on.
I like his efficiency, but understand it's dropped off lately. I'm not sure he is to blame, or the team dynamics, but probably both is fair.

I'm going to let the NAW idea settle a bit, but initially I'm not too excited about a project and even though it may be meaningless the numbers say he has lots of work to do offensively and defensively.

I liked Hughes, so I'm a little sad to see him go. Theoretically NAW has more potential I guess. Trading Joe was inevitable, so I was already prepared for that.

I'll let this trade marinate for a little bit and wait to see what follow up moves we do/don't do before I get too critical.

If we bring Juancho in using the Favors trade exception instead of matching salary for the Joe contract does that mean he can be aggregated in another trade? I think/thought the rule is a player cannot be aggregated twice within a certain time frame, but am not 100% certain on that.

Juancho is just salary filler that makes no sense here, and I have to imagine he’ll be on the move here soon.

As others have said, having Clarkson and Clarkson-lite will prove problematic. I would honestly rather have NAW. Longer, younger, and more defensive potential.

Clarkson gotta get moved somewhere now, right?
