Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

That look on his face perfectly describes his defense.

Don would always do that, I'm going to get in stance and press at 30 feet thing just to get blown by.

The dude bought his hype off those huge playoff performances 100%. To him it was always "I'm going to score, yall take care of the rest". He's not a complete player and he is a **** leader.

Maybe he puts it all together in New York, but if he is giving high level of effort on D for the first time in his career since his rookie year, his game is going to suffer in other areas. He isnt that guy.
Will be really interested to see how he does with a new pick and roll partner and like zero knock down shooters around him.

Trying to build a team around Mitchell is like trying to build a team around Kyrie. He's good, really good, but he can't carry a team on his own. He's also a mercurial personality who demands the limelight and isn't always a team player. Mitchell says he's about winning, and I'm sure he'd like to be on a team where there are other All Stars to carry him, but he's taking the Carmelo path.

I'm sure Ainge saw this right away, since he had Kyrie for 2 years.
A lot of the Donovan hype is off small game sample size of epic playoff performances. Great stuff, but it isnt proof he can always do it as evidenced by his mediocre showing against an OK-Mavericks team.

Not sure who this is... might be Monty east... but it is something someone typed on a computer or phone and went to a social media site called twitter.

Who knows if this is accurate. It's out there as one more view to triangulate with. There are mixed reports about whether Barrett is in the deal, or if the Jazz want guys like Quickley, Toppin and Grimes.

The 5 picks thing seems pretty consistent from different sources so far. We've also heard 2 swaps and 3 swaps.

They are one injury away from the play-in game. Don’t kid yourself.
They arent unless they have two of their top 4 go down right away.

KAT goes down and they just play around Gobert just like Utah did and they still win 50 games.

Gobert goes down and it's bit spicier, but they are still that team that went to the playoffs and now they have an improved Edwards. Edwards is going to take a huge leap with Gobert.

I think getting international guys that aren't part of the AAU cool kids club is something we should focus on as well.

I think if we were better we'd have a bigger runway for some of these guys. I am not super worried about every dude just requesting out. Build an awesome team and guys will want to stay.

If Edwards or Gobert go down they are absolutely a play-in team.

They traded all of their depth to us. They better hope this works out and a lot of people don’t think it will.

And part of that is in the bubble. Where everyone shot really well.

Get the best talent you can and hope for the best. At the end of the day winning is what keeps players on board. The Jazz couldn't win so Mitchell gave up.

Also probably had something to do with Adidas designing him the ********* possible shoe every year because he's in a small market and has mid-personality. Probably tired of wearing the Harden's design rejects.

Imagine if we traded Bogey, Royce, Clarkson plus all of our future picks for KAT. Would we be sitting here thinking we’re championship contenders?

Point to me the last team that had their two all-stars have early season ending injuries for players who have excellent health track records.

No, because we would still have Donovan Mitchell instead of Edwards and we also wouldnt have D'Lo/McDaniels/Slow-Mo

The Jazz have this problem, but so does most of the league. Guys want New York, LA and Miami. They may tolerate San Francisco, Chicago and a couple more spots. I think Brunson leaving Dallas for New York is also not a coincidence.

Yup, Donovan bought his own hype. He's a product of Gobert.

Not saying he wouldnt have good stats without Gobert, but Gobert's ability let a stat-hog get into the playoffs where he could put up massive stats while dogging it on defense.

He's just Collin Sexton who got the gift of playing with a GOAT.
And then we traded away the GOAT that was connected to the franchise and wanted to be here for his career and would have been a solid corner-stone as we rebuilt. **** us.
